Unfortunately, I fear that this site is going the way of 24 hour news channels. When nothing relevant is happening, dig through the garbage.

Based on the article, neither party in this confrontation is gay. Allegedly exposing yourself to someone of the same sex makes the story relevant to a gay publication? Come on, people!

This was a mainstream news story. I doubt 365gay.com has the budget for teh number of people it would take to sift through and personally hand select every single story it uses. Be thankful for what you get and if you don’t think the coverage of it is adequate, add The Advocate website to your daily reading or do a news.google.com search under the word “gay” and sort by date – that should pretty much cover everything that’s out there (inclduing all the CRAP that 365gay.com DOES screen out).

365gay.com can’t even bring us an uplifting story about Norway’s gay marriage that went into effect on the very first day of 2009 but sure can bring us lowly, irrelevant and controversial crap of a titillating nature that has ZILCH to do with the national and/or international gay community.

This story actually appears in other non-GLBT news sources. The sensationalism is not unique to 365gay.

On another matter related to this website, I think it’s really telling that there was no news posted between December 23 and January 5. Did the editors think we would not notice? Or did they think the world stopped dead still to over 10 days?

Isn’t there a maxim that if you want people to treat you fairly that you should treat them fairly?

I believe that journalists should be reluctant to report allegations. By their nature, allegations are not facts. If there are audio or video tapes which people and hear and see for themselves, that is somewhat better. We Gays should be more sensitive to the impact of reporting allegations.

Personally, I think this is a relevant story. We all know that seemingly heterosexual individuals engage in same-sex flirting and in some cases even sex. If the allegations are true, this could be an interesting, high-profile example. I think it’s a novel part of understanding sexual orientation.

It is just typical of the sensationalism of 365gay.com.
This “news” service can’t even tell us about Norway marrying its gay couples on the 1st day of 2009 but is has no trouble finding the sensational and the controversial. It can come up with a Larry Craig story faster than you can snap your fingers.
This is just another “filler” story for 365gay.com even though it has nothing to do with the gay community.

Why is this even reported here? 365 gay is pretty lame in it’s coverage…they miss obvious stuff, report way later than others or come up with crap like this. Does it even have an editor? Who runs this thing anyway. It’s the journalistic equivalent of a fuster cluck.
