I’ve lived in San Diego in years past. It’s a great city with the most moderate climate on the continent. But it has always had its share of anti-gay and anti-everything , religious zealots. But , I could not believe my eyes when reading that these sensitive , (the poor darlin’s)firefighters were statione in …Hillcrest. It’s the traditional gay area of the city ; second only to an area called ….(wink,wink) 32nd Street.

I’m gay and to be honest I’m glad that they won this case. It made them feel uncomfortable, and as a firefighter/paramedic/nurse, I know that if I was harrassed by any of my co-workers I could sue and win.

Hey,With Equal Rights comes the responsibility to treat our heterosexuals brothers and sisters with the same respect we’re asking of them. The firefighters were harrassed, they deserve the same considerations we expect. Had I , as a gay firefighter been ordered to participate in a “stright” event (a straight auction for example) I would feel harrassed. Good for the firefighters for asking that NO double Standards be acceptable!

I’m a str8 guy, and I participate in gay pride parades in Balt and Dc. I’ve been in high school, college, the army,etc,. Belonged to a health club for 25 years.

I’ve prob seen thousands of guys naked, and thousands of them have seen me naked as well. No big deal. And yes, I know a few of the guys at the health club are gay. (wish I knew more of the lesbians -mmm).

So what the f… are these guys complaining about — are they afraid they’ll get boners, or cum in their pants? Or start chasing each other around the firestation house shower?

I really have to wonder about these macho types. What are we going to do next- only use volunteer police at the gay pride parades, to insure civil order?

I hope the only thing these firefighters are awarded is used toilet paper in the end. It would be appropriate.

Double Standard that it may be, when your fishing for a jury, it usually will, in this case, go to the defendants.

It is money scheme, and everyone knows it. These firefighters work in the Gay Distric they Sued. If there was any fear for themselves, maybe they are questioning their own sexuality. The Loudest Homophobe is Generally Gay, and if not, Bisexually, or just have some hidden kinks that if revealed might make them Gay. Besides all this speculation, the one word that best fits them is….GOLDIGGERS.

wow. this is ironic that they felt uncomftorable in a gay community with men hitting on them, yet we have to live our lives mostly in a straight enviornment. Think of all the horney straight guys that watch lesbians kiss and cheer them on making rude comments, and if it was 2 guys making out they would be verbally abussed and possibly phisically abussed. The LGBT people have to live with comments and actions like these our whole life, and we shouldnt have to. Now they go to a GAY PRIDE parade and dont expect to have anyone say anything to them? GROW UP!!!!! They should take it as a complement that anyone, gay or straight, was hitting on them.

But its ok for straight firefighters to hurl antigay slurs and epithets, ditto the police, yet when we take them to court, we seldom win. This is nothing more than a doublestandard. I wonder if these same men would be against being ordered to rescue gay people from a fire just because they don’t like us? What a bunch of wusses.
