Jamaica, really? I am spending my money and time in Puerto Rico. The Rum is better, the beer is better, they have a thriving gay community. I visit there regularly and the people are very nice, not to mention, it is a U.S. territory, I don’t need a passport to go there and I am protected there. Enough said. Jamaica has it’s issues, I have jamaican straight friends that love it there and down play the violence. Whatever, Puerto Rico gets MY vote….. And if they open up travel to CUBA, hell yeah, I’m there!

I wouldn’t dream of going to Jamaica because of the appalling homophobic violence there, though I visit elsewere in the Caribbean. Yes, it is sad that gay people in Jamaica will suffer further before justice prevails. But that is not a reason to drop the boycott unfortunately. It is heartbreaking that Jamaican gays are being unfairly singled out for prosecution under the same laws that convicted Oscar Wilde (and which have been rolled back in the UK for many decades now.) Appallingly backward people. Dump the Jamaican tours and products! Spend our money in other lovely Caribbean places–not the breeding ground for hate and violence that is modern day Jamaica.

It’s about time for this! Just listen to the music lyrics. The world community had to get wise to this first before they began to look behind the curtain of this supposedly tropical paradise, which is a human rights hell hole. We should be offering asylum to LGBT Jamaicans.

I agree with Scott in that we should boycott the cruise lines who have port of calls in Jamaica. It’s primarily the cruise industry that supports Jamaica econmically. How many of you actually drink red stripe?

The IMF and World Bank already restrict trade on Jamaica. This is very interesting Chsd-Tulsa can you tell me the reasons that have given for doing this? Aside from homophobia, hate, violence and murder what else are they doing wrong?

For the I am in support of the boycott.

For someone to understand the rage, sleepless night one have to live with in his own country because of their sexuality, Twenty five(25)years of abuse.
“SOUND SAD INIT”?.But the answer is am still GAY i just cannot change.
