A corrupt and profane gay-friendly governor is no real favor for the gay community. The gay commnunity loses from being linked to gay-friendliness on one hand but shadiness and corruption on the other. Kind of like being given a "warm and friendly handshake" "filled with "smelly dog-poop" at the same time, so to speak. The gay community has enough to contend with equality-wise without having to wince through with the gov's stink of corruption at the same time. Hopefully the "winds of fortune" will dramatically shift direction for the gay community and the next governor will be committed to both cleaning up Illinois politics and to respecting equality for the gay community at the same time and puttng back on track some kind of legal recognition for gay relationships, preferably gay marriage.
