I THINK THAT ANYONE THAT THINKS LIKE THAT AND SPEAKS LIKE THAT SHOULD NOT BELONG IN PUBLIC OFFICE BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT HURTS THE UNITED STATES. SOMEONE LIKE THAT, GETS PEOPLE WORKED UP AND THEY GO AND DO SOMEYHING STUPID, THEN THEY WILL TURN AROUND AND SAY WELL, I DID’T TELL THEM TO DO THAT. GAY PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. THEY PAY TAXES AND WHATEVER ELSE THEY NEED TO PAY. THIS IS THEIR COUNTRY TOO. THEY ARE AMERICANS AND IT DOES NOT SAY ANYWHERE IN WRITTING THAT IF YOU ARE GAY YOU ARE NOT AMERICAN.

Instead of fearing backlash, I think we should just do our homework and then act as best we can, factoring in the inevitable backlash.

I’m not advocating being reckless. But I think we do ourselves a disservice when we inhibit ourselves solely because “ooo, they’re gonna get mad at us and fight us.” So, what else is new?!

I think this is a very bold, albeit dangerous idea that could backfire on the LGBT community and Mr. Carrier. The wounds from the decision of Prop 8 are still too fresh to invoke another confrontation. It is never a bad idea to have such courage Mr. Carrier.

Istead of all the MLK blvd. we can have HBM (harvey bernard milk) blvd…. ya that wont happen in my lifetime. just like “marriage” ya right.

this is as likely to happen as a gay friendly bill being passed down to the governor’s desk.if it ever goes up,one or more of the bigots in the state will just knock it down someday.the bglt’s in utah need more than a statue.they need decent treatment & they’re not getting it.i think he should take the statue money & donate to a worthy bglt charity if he wants to help us & his beloved state that much.
