Fine, the bloody republicans want this to go to a referendum, then lets do it.
Polls have continually showed a majority of New Hampshire voters agree with samesex marriages and want samesex marriage in their state, so if the Republicans want to lose a ground war and embarrass themselves, I say we stick it to em!

Humph...it seems like the Republicans will use any excuse to try to deny us GLBT folks our rights and equal protection under the law. Now, they're using the economy as an excuse to stop this effort.

In the past, giving GLBT citizens marriage rights would have, according to many Republicans and most evangelical and religious extremists, "ruined families and civilization as we know it." Now, it looks like they're granting us a little less power, as we'd ruin "only" the economy should we proceed with this effort. Apparently civilizations and families will now survive our having full rights.

Governor Lynch...sign that bill...and you'll teach our legislators here in Maryland and elsewhere a thing or two about exercising courage by doing the right thing.

"At a press conference, GOP members from the House and Senate accused Democrats of wasting time when they should be concentrating on the economy, and urged Lynch kill the marriage bill now."

and I say GOP should focus on the economy and let Democrats focus on the economy and therefore GOP should end its hate campaign in NH, DC and elsewhere. GOP should offer the money spent on anti-equality campaigns to small business etc.

Equality has never been submitted to a popular vote for any other group. Rights are not a popularity contest, and should not be vetoed by a prejudice based on a few misinterpreted bible verses.

To think that Log Cabiners wouldn't give a damn if is vetoed, yes gay republicans, an oxymoron if ever there were. Marriage quality is way down the ladder on their agenda. All they care about is the economy, lower taxes and the preservation of the status quo, their status quo. Ask them why marriage equality was never on their platform at any GOP convention and more importantly, why none of them are ever given a place to deliver a speech. Their leader never takes any of them on on this one issue of full equality.

I think Sen minority leader (GOP) Peter Bragdon needs to be defeated at the NH polls at voting time for NH office holders. He needs to be replaced by a champion of equality for all New Hampshire citizens.

I'd urge you NH folks to write your reps in the House. It was the House reps on the marriage equality side who shot themselves in the foot by refusing to accept the actually very reasonable request from the governor. Technically, I think the religious liberty assurances are unnecessary, but if it makes religious folks feel more comfortable about this (and calls the bluff of many of the arguments made against legalizing same-sex marriage), then it's a good thing.

If this thing falls apart for NH, I would blame the House, not the Governor.
