Loading ...German zoo: Gay penguin pair raising chick

(Berlin) A German zoo says a pair of gay male penguins are raising a chick from an egg abandoned by its parents.
Bremerhaven zoo veterinarian Joachim Schoene says the egg was placed in the male penguins’ nest after its parents rejected it in late April. The males incubated it for some 30 days before it hatched and have continued to care for it. The chick’s gender is not yet known.Schoene said the male birds, named Z and Vielpunkt, are one of three same-sex pairs among the zoo’s 20 Humboldt penguins that have attempted to mate.
Homosexual behavior has been documented in many animal species.
The zoo said in a statement on its Web site Thursday that “sex and coupling in our world don’t always have something to do with reproduction.”

Two penguins out of all the penguins in the world are “Gay” in zoo some where in Germany? What did they do to the poor fellows? If they were in the wild they would have been eaten by a seal or something. It seems that people see what they want to see
Ugh, this is gross. They can’t mate, so what is the point of it all? And that poor baby…hopefully it will turn out alright (straight). I mean, human gay couples can’t mate either, so how does any gay couple plan to reproduce? Oh wait, they can’t, so there’s no reasoning behind it. Only a seriously disgusting excuse to stand out.

Mother Nature is going to do what Mother Nature is going to do. You can’t legislate it. You can’t ban it. There’s no constitution to amend to destroy it. LOVE CONQUERS ALL!
Wow. It turns out penguins are more progressive than the whole state of Florida. Way to go Florida.

This is a great story ; very touching , and a reminder that nature rarely follows rules/beliefs , and so often comes out with the simplicity of caring and continuing life. If the zoo was in some locations on this continent , the keepers would be inundated with calls to keep the penguin chick away from the gorillas , elephants , and other ‘butch’ species , lest the “homosexualist”influence from the obviously caring and responsible parents ; impact these tough animals , such that they begin color coordinating parts of the zoo.
