Obama is being very careful in selecting non-controversial cabinet candidates. He's clearly trying to deprive the GOP of any opportunity to raise a stink about his picks without looking like partisan jerks. Despite rants about him bringing in "socialism" his cabinet picks so far aren't very far to the Left. As I said, that's deliberate. Personally I supported Obama because 1) I think he is more competent to pull this country through a major financial crisis than John McCain and 2) I think that McCain/Palin were almost guaranteed to launch a federal level attack on gay rights. I don't expect Obama to be pushing our cause very vigorously, but at least I don't expect him to try and smack us down either. But I also don't have high hopes for any gays in major administration positions, although he could surprise me. I’m not holding my breath.
