Ok, first off, its obvious these people are projecting their own personal insecurities, bigotry and fears on the world b/c they cant face reality.
Secondly , they should all watch “But I’m A Cheerleader” get a clue, have a laugh, and get on with their lives.

These are groups whose whole goal is to destroy a persons’ self worth, and replace it with a taliban version of Jesus.

The Catholic church calls their group REgeneration. BTw, that was the name for the same operation the church used in past centuries against Jews. To convert them. And the church said that Jews were not to be attacked while praying, but otherwise were fair game.

Same shit different day. The promoters of this religious shit should be sent to Afghanistan as a peace offering to the taliban. Where they can “change” and become islamic, or see the consequences.

Something about putting the shoe on the other foot.

2. If one could choose to change being gay because they didn’t like it, the person would just do that on his or her own.

As secrity pointed out, if you scratch the surface of this nonsensical movement you find religiously misguided people who have a narrow-minded view of the world. I think that we should start pushing ex-Christian literature (there is a lot of it out there) on them and see how quickly they scream foul.

The people behind this ex-gay movement KNOW that it is a big sham. If it really worked then why are they keeping their methods a huge secret? You’d think they’d want every person in America to know how to change their child’s sexual orientation.

The two men that started the ex-gay movement are both now openly gay, and have condemned the practice of trying to change someone’s sexuality.

Reading about these folks has miraculously awoken my first latent masochistic fetish: I was never able to understand the term “grudge-f**king” – you know, where you get mad at someone and then have sex with them. I could never understand the appeal. But reading about these folks (and marveling at the majestic blandness of their hairdos) just makes me want to have sex with them. Gay sex.

What about all the ex-straights that come out as gay? This whole issue comes from a place where straights are considered the “normal”, never ever changing, the constant, and that straights never “turn gay”. And then there’s the issue of bisexuality, and how bisexuals are allowed to marry other bisexuals, as well as the gay and straight couples that marry. (Not just “only straights” can get married.) But the accomodation to gay couples to marry, isn’t as well accepted. The ex-gays make it sound like such a big deal miracle about the changes in their sexual lives. Why do we not just promote a “live and let live” way to live. Just be happy with who you are!

Just read the titles of those pamphlets, “You Don’t Have to Be Gay” and “A Parent’s Guide to Prevent Homosexuality”. They are dripping with anti-gay sentiment! It’s not like trying to avoid the flu or enlisting into the military. Whether or not “reformed gays” actually exist or they are just gay people in denial because conservatives pressure them to follow what they believe to be moral, those pamphlets aren’t being distributed because they do promote discrimination and are anti-philanthropic. They promote the idea that homosexuality is a disease that can be cured. Has anyone read any science journals lately, or even in the past 40 years for that matter? Being gay is completely normal. It is no different from being straight. You never hear about gay people saying that one shouldn’t be straight. Please just live and let live. I believe I will be let into heaven because I’m a good person who does good deeds, and that has nothing to do with being gay or straight. And for all you people who like to use religion as a defense against homosexuality, “Love thy neighbor” because what you are doing is not love, it’s hate.
