Gay men kicked out of El Paso restaurant for kissing

(El Paso) A group of gay men were kicked out of a Chico’s Tacos restaurant in El Paso, Texas because two of the men were kissing, the El Paso Times reports.
The group of men called police to lodge an anti-discrimination complaint after a guard at the restaurant told them to leave. Police spokesman Javier Sambrano said that the officer dispatched to the scene sided with the restaurant and did not file a report about the incident.“It was a relatively new officer,” Sambrano said.

i was at chicos tacos with my girlfriend the same day and we were kissing and you’re right…we didnt get kicked out
Possibly the most appalling part of this story is not the kissing gay guys nor the homophobic security guards, but instead the responding policeman who had no idea that the “law against homosexual conduct” which he was citing had been struck down by the Supreme Court of the United States six years prior to this incident.
Perhaps we need to publish an update notice for all police bulletin boards which says that it is not illegal for homosexuals to kiss each other in public no matter how much it pisses off the cops or anyone else seeing it happen.
Nothing good can come of this. I have seen ‘percievably gay’ people eating at the restaurant. And I have seen some people who should have been thrown out but weren’t. I even saw one of the richest men in El Paso throwing up in the bushes. Maybe I go there too much, but we like to go somewhere after clubbing and you feel safe, even with the ‘rent-a-cops’. It’s true that people’s behaviour borders on anarchy. I work in retail, and if you see someone opening a box and taking something out, you will lose a hand trying to get them to stop. Ever seen a box of 25 band-aids with 20 inside ? You helped an unfortunate family who could not afford a box.
Chicos didnt show equal rights to those gay men, on the daily theres straight couples in there just making out.I dont get why its crossing the line when two guys kiss. Im not a fan of PDA but damn either inforce it on everyone or not. It cant be whenever the security feels uncomfritable.
I’m from Texas and I LOVE MY STATE, even if sometimes my state does not love me. I will not be intimidated out of my birthplace, my community, my HOME.
