(Stevensville, Montana) San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom took a break from his busy job and gubernatorial ambitions to marry actress Jennifer Siebel on Saturday at Siebel’s parents’ Montana ranch.
It is the 34-year-old Siebel’s first marriage and the second for Newsom, who divorced legal analyst Kimberly Guilfoyle in March 2006.Newsom met Siebel in October 2006 and they have been together ever since. Siebel was at Newsom’s side when he was sworn in for his second term as mayor in January. She also stood by him after he publicly admitted to having had an affair with a staff member’s wife and a drinking problem.
U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi traveled to Montana to attend the wedding as did other friends and family.
Siebel is an actress who has appeared in the NBC television series “Life” and who attended Stanford Business School.
The 40-year-old mayor and his new bride will honeymoon in Africa.
Congrats to Mr. Newsome and his new bride Jennifer May on their new marriage. I met Mayor Newsome during his recent visit to Austin, TX, and I found him to be the most charming since George Moscone. (As a native San Franciscan, I’d indicated I’d known both Mayor Moscone, as well as Harvey Milk. Mayor Newsome, responded, “Now there’s a hero for you. You’re truly lucky to have known him. Where we’d be today if he had lived for us to see him meet his full potential.” The mayor even spoke with my partner of 33 years and offered his congrats. By the time our visit was over, I missed The City just a little more… His new bride Jennifer May is truly one lucky gal, and I look forward to their service to my fellow Californians from the Governor’s mansion in the very near future. Congrats to Mr. Newsome. He is truly an American hero for his fairness and dilligence. May they have a happy marriage and many little newsomes running around before long!
