"U.S. Census figures reported about 19 percent of gay and lesbian couples in Iowa were raising children" I am confused by this statement. We were not on the Census then and we are not on the 2010 census. How can the AP use figures that are not accurate. People, be sure to fill out your census using a red pen and create a box if there is not one that fits your situation. The information is used for so many reasons including programs and funds that serve the LGBT population.
