IMMEDIATE RELEASE

America…Let’s Really Talk About the Bible!

November 17, 2008

Canton, MI- While Zondervan Publishing L.L.C. and Thomas Nelson Publishing are still awaiting the verdict on their motions for dismissal filed against plaintiff Bradley L. Fowler, in one of the biggest law suits in religious history. Bradley Fowler has continued compiling thought provoking evidence to help American’s gain a better understanding on why his efforts are not in vain.

Author Bradley L. Fowler filed a civil complaint against the largest Bible publishing companies in North America earlier this year, on the grounds of emotional duress and for violating his constitutional rights. And with this case still pending, this author seems to have a valid point.

In an effort to educate Christian’s and the world about homosexuality, and what the scriptures really say about homosexuality, Bradley has released a new book titled America…Let’s Really Talk About The Bible. With research compiled from the Dead Sea Scrolls and various other historical doctrines Bradley has unleashed a thought provoking study on a scripture found in the book of Luke.

“I tell you, in the night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left,” taken from Luke Seventeen, verse thirty-four and thirty-five, shines a new light on the theory that homosexuality is not acceptable in the eyes of God.

Bradley argues, “The misconception people have about God hating homosexuals is absurd. God created all human beings. The scriptures reflect a negative connotation towards sexual encounters with women more so than it does against homosexuality. Many times, people reference Leviticus Eighteen when they want to discredit homosexuals, but in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, God didn’t destroy the city because of its homosexual acts, but because their wasn’t one person in the whole city that was righteous.”

In his new book, Bradley also shares research discrediting Jesus as the Son of God. He also points out how biblical revisions are against the scriptures, while evaluating the technique’s practiced by today’s theologians and Bible scholar’s, regarding religious doctrine. His extensive research conveys evidence that will be useful in winning his civil complaint, and may very well help same-sex couples attain the right to marry around the nation.

Bradley argues, “Much of America’s distaste towards homosexuals derives from biblical teaching. And since the Bible does not reject homosexuals, neither should American law. God created everyone equally. To deprive someone of being happy due to the opinions of Bible publisher’s, who were not suppose to revise the scriptures in the first place, not only contradicts the U.S. Constitution, but shows a lack of unity in a country that classifies itself as ‘the United States of America.”

Despite what Bible publishers are selling its readers, this author may very well have a fighting chance at making serious changes in American history. With a $70 million dollar law suit still pending in federal court, and with the approach of a new president who included “gays” in his acceptance speech, America may very well be in for a rude awakening.

The two local papers in my area do the exact same thing, and it royally pisses me off. I hope that if Lambda Legal wins, they take on other police departments.

There is nothing wrong with having sex. Nothing wrong with having same-sex sex and nothing wrong with having sex in public. I thing this Judeo/Christian obsession with modesty is boring. I do wish that people would have some discretion about how public they want to be with PDAs but I still insist that there is nothing wrong with public sex.

Innocent until proven guilty right? While many of us do not approve of this type of behavior it happens in our community and the hetro community. Oldest profession. I wonder if the Sheriff treats a hetro john in the same manner or did he target these men based on their orientation. Personally I feel, straight or gay, for all parties involved making these arrests public causes a lot of innocents pain and anguish (family & friends) and feel it shouldn’t be made allowed to be made public. We are talking consensual sex.... no body killed anyone. You would never see this type of information released if the party killed or raped someone. Getting off my soap box now.

Not to mention, many of these men were probably closeted gay men. Some were probably married. Some probably have children; and all certainly have other family members hurt by the publicity.

Innocent persons hurt all over the place for activity between consenting adults. Countless lives ruined for the sake of vendetta.

How was justice served here at all?

Shawn, I hold no anger toward you for your comment, BUT I do wish to alert you to the fact that their behavior, guilty or innocent, is not the issue of this Federal Law Suit: The issue is these persons charged were treated much differently from any other arrest/charge over a timely sample of the department's records. This same issue can apply to other punitive situations which are beyond the scope of the arrest/charge and sentence if found guilty.

I don't agree with the public behavior at all. In this time there is no justification of risking awkward discomfort to any inadvertent "company" while engaging in illegal, public sexual activity. I don't wish to walk into any public facility and find one or more heterosexual couples engaged in open-view sexual activity. Yek!

Because of race prejudice in the past, many newspapers have editorial guidelines to only show the picture of a suspect when they are still at large. Since none of these men were convicted of crime, let alone sentenced by a judge to this punishment, both the police force, which should uphold the laws and constitution, and the media outlets, which should promote knowledge rather than suspicion, should be liable.

Public acts of sex should not happen straight or gay, period. Having said this, the police had no right to treat them any different than a straight person. It is innocent until proved guilty and not the other way around. It is one of the reasons I am getting disgusted with living here in the Tennessee Valley.

What a terrible story! What kind of news station/paper would print the addresses of these people who were arrested? That's a clear violation of privacy laws isn't it?

Unbelievable.

Giles and the other men should also sue the media that released their names and addresses.

People shouldn't be accused of there actions and put on a forum for all to judge. Who said huamn being where to always have sex surround by 4 walls. I"ve seen straight and gay people have sex in the park, river, canyon in there cars. They do it hopefully when no ones around watching. You know that the police put more emphasis on the gay population because they are hated by the religious right and the Pope who brings hatred. Even when we try to be good we are still demoralized. I'am catholic but I'am for the right of all people to live there life with dignity, the persuit of happiness, life and liberty. So help us God.
