Is it our fault that the Obama is not living up to his own propaganda? He is the one that generated all of this larger than life hyperpole. If you become an apologist for the Obama, then you are no better than the Log Cabin Repubicans during the Bush years. If we are going to be treated as second class citizens them we should not have to pay taxes - any taxes, including sales tax.

The President is the Commander of the Armed Forces

While the President customarily delegates supreme command of the forces in active service, there is no constitutional reason why he should do so, and he has been known to resolve personally important questions of military policy. Lincoln early in 1862 issued orders for a general advance in the hopes of stimulating McClellan to action; Wilson in 1918 settled the question of an independent American command on the Western Front; Truman in 1945 ordered that the bomb be dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

I think the Obama can order equality in the armed forces without an act of Congress. Clinton used an act of Congress to obscure his own cowardice.

You know, Clinton could have fixed this right off the bat by keeping his campaign promises but instead he made the problem worse when he reneged on them with DADT. Oh, and he did that in the first few months of his presidency, too.

I am at once not surprise and disappointed. The democruds are like straight trade: They use us to get erected, I mean elected, and then bash us when they go back to their straight friends and kick us to the curb after they have gotten off, I mean gotten what they wanted.

They always marginalize us because they think we are such a small part of the population. This from the people who refuse to count us in the Census.

Perhaps it is time to name names, take pictures and videos, and post them all in blogs, YouTube, or where ever. It is time to count the hypocrites in both parties, Repubicans and Democruds both.

"That's RIGHT, Barrack! Put down all that nonsense about the economy and Afghanistan and Iraq, and work really hard on a divisive issue, involving a vast minority of your citizens and involving a stubborn organization [the military], and push that organization around with your opinions, regardless of what your military advisers are telling you. That's always worked well in the past, so you should be doing that NOW!"

Yeah, right!

Impeachment? That gave me a good laugh.

How about this? Keep lobbying as you wish, then, let's have a conversation at the end of his first four years, we'll discuss what he got done, we'll compare it to other presidents, and THEN we'll evaluate him. Sound reasonable?

We aren't even at the three-month mark, yet, people....

And now it starts...the betrayal of the LGBT voter community by the National Democratic Party. It is easy for Obama to write a mere, passive letter taking a stand against Prop.8 but not actively campaign nor make any vocal public statements; it is easy to sign the UN Declaration against criminalizing LGBT behavior as it is already the law in the U.S. under Lawrence v. Texas; it is easy to post an "agenda" of proposed gay legislation and executive action on a website but take no action. It is easy make statements but it is harder if not non-existent to take substantive action. Like all other National Democratic politicians, once elected it seems the plate is always "full" when it comes time to deliver on its promises to the LGBT voting community. When we hear that when it comes to LGBT issues that the "plate is full" with no more room for us what it means is that we are left with the crumbs of non-substantive public platitudes and hollow promises. If you are LGBT, expect "real change" for everything but us. Its the National Democratic Party way.

drewski Said: "So, how many of you are willing to sacrifice what you’re asking a gay servicemember to sacrifice to make a political point?"

Are they not sacrificing their lives to make a political point? They are being asked to kill and/or be killed. Losing a job seems small potatos to me when compared to that. BTW, I have walked away from jobs before because of homophobic harrassment, usually with my middle finger flying. The point is that if enough made that sacrifice, then things would change where they didn't lose their jobs or receive a less than honorable discharge. Remaining silent only ensures that it will continue to happen.

Sure the inherent unfairness of a discriminatory law pisses me off. This business about getting as many gay servicemembers as possible to come out at once--if you think it's such a great idea, are you willing to quit your job? That's what it amounts to. And if your parents paid for your education, you're also preparing to pay them back for that education. If you receive advanced education as a servicemember, and you're discharged for being openly gay, then they damn sure do come back to you and demand payment. Then there's the matter of discharge. It's not an honorable discharge, no matter how strong your service record was. So, how many of you are willing to sacrifice what you're asking a gay servicemember to sacrifice to make a political point? If people choose to do it, it's definitely a display of honor and courage, but be aware that suggesting a mass coming-out is asking every one of those people to risk giving up job, career and possibly home ('cause they'll be unemployed).
