The assertion that the world is not overpopulated is a little startling, especially for someone like me who comes across articles about overpopulation now and then in news, geography, and science publications.

It's true that early fears of an outright population catastrophe haven't materialized. In the developed world, overpopulation isn't the problem it once was. I understand that parts of Europe are even experiencing declines, although the U.S. population is continuing to grow.

However, what we call the developed world is only some 14 or 15 countries. Much of the developing world is still struggling with overpopulation, that is, population that exceeds the habitat's ability to sustain it. This is particularly true of subsaharan Africa. I would think that, if the world were not overpopulated, I would have found evidence of this in some reliable source.

Trip, the world is not over populated. In fact, the argument could be made that we need to encourage further procreation.

Yes, good for them and great for the world when we can stamp out AIDS..

However, what confuses me is if she was using "protection" like condoms, what is she doing with four kids? The world is over populated as it is.

I would rather give out FREE CONDOMS @ a cost of 1 cent a piece, then go the "teach abstinance" route.

We can halt AIDS and also slow up the over population rate around the world, which in turn helps with poverty.

Well, that being said the Religious Fanatics around the world wouldn't hear of such. Why give out condoms and help people, let them keep spreading various diseases and creating more unwanted lives, just more to recruit into their clubs.
