Freedom of speech has limits within a job. If I went around everyday (not even as a rep of the company) shoving my private religious views down everyone’s throat, I’d be fired. I’m not talking about her answer to the question, but about her signing on to publicly endorse discrimination and push her religious views while being a rep of the pageant.

We’re not trying to make the argument that all Christians behave like Prejean. Instead, most of us are making the argument that the mild-mannered Christians in the middle are *enabling* the Prejeans of the world.

The continued mass support of most traditional Christian religions gives legitimacy, money, and political power to the Prejean types.

And as good and kind as the folks are whom you’re describing, their actions continue to legitimize the number 1 tool of oppression used by organized religion: The Bible. And I’m not hearing any counter argument that a proper approach to the Bible should be to see them as fairy tales used to teach morals.

If tomorrow, 95% of Christians called the Bible a set of fairy tales used to teach morality, and that they were renouncing and refusing to tolerate fundamentalism and the direct use of the Bible to enact US laws, then the world would be a MUCH, MUCH better place. (Let’s get the other religions to do the same, while we’re at it.)

Morgan, calling out religious delusion as thellmer has is never seen as PC but it is true. I’m sorry to say you yourself are brainwashed into believing the whacko things religious people do.

No, you are not blessed to live where you are, you chose it. God didn’t hand out lottery tickets and yours turned up blue. We use our brains to make choices, your choices are not a blessing.

And you may think the people sitting around you are kind hearted, maybe they are, but one thing we do know is they, like you, have been brainwashed into thinking you need religion to be good.

You don’t…humans can make choices. I choose to be good, not hate people and to help society. I do this without the threat of hell. I’m too “good” a person to be threatened. You should think about aspiring to that as well.

She lost the Miss U S A pageant because she didn’t answer the question. Now she will lose again because she wasn’t listening. A contract with Miss California includes appearances, she signed the contract and then didn’t show up. She was fired and now she wants to sue… Haha…she is on a losing streak, Goooooo Carrie!
