Yes, let's cancel health insurance for people in need of care (in Arizona) or throw children out of loving "forever" homes (in Florida) because Christ wants people to suffer in order to build the self esteem for his followers. What part of Christian did they not understand. What hateful people these Christians can be.

ugh so discusted I dont really know what to say actually. sorry for the lack of input everyone. You ever get so appalled you are tongue tied? Im like that right now. Now it is getting to the point where children pay the biggest expense: a life in the system. Because qulified cpls will still not be allowed to adopt them. I hope these groups with their 'religious' conscience develope a remorseful conscience sooner or later-just my wishful thinking. Their God will punnish them for this.

I have done a few court-appointed ad litem representations of children taken from their biological parents by child protective service organizations. In one case, I represented a beautiful blond boy of about 18 months who had been placed with Hispanic parents and was, so far as I could see, as happy as a child could be. The prospects for reunification with the biological parents do not look good because they are not following through on programs offered to rehabilitate them (e.g. drug treatment, since the mother was using coke while pregnant).

I have never seen a happier child. He doesn't know that this brown-skinned woman is not his mother. Nor would a child know that two men or two women were not his parents, or that there was anything unusual about one of them not being a woman or a man respectively. All that really matters is that the child has a loving, caring home.

Isn't interesting how Liberty Counsel and Liberty University are always standing up for "free speech" by opposing legislation to effectively deal with hate crimes, yet they want to silence organizations from speaking in support of LGBT equality. I understand Liberty University recently deregistered the campus Democratic Party club because the Democrats support beliefs and political positions opposed to those of the religious right. This is the kind of "free speech" we will have unless we are vigilant about standing up to the power and influence of religious extremists.

"God" is not happy. He's not happy that everyone he put on this earth is treated equally. He/She doesn't like the restrictions for some, and benefits of others. If "GOD" were truly a divider of good & evil, he wouldn't be so strict on who's going to heaven or hell. I was taught at a young age that "GOD" only accepts "Christians" into heaven. If that were truly the case, then everyone of different religions would be tossed into the pit of hell.

I'm not sure whether there is a "GOD" or not. I believe, if there is a true "Heaven or Hell", that "GOD" would put the people that accepted everyone, into heaven and send all of the closed minded religious groups, into Hell.

People are people. Everyone should know right from wrong. Not one religion, is better than the others. If "GOD" does truly exist, I would believe, that if you are a good human being, and treat others with respect, than you should surely go to "HEAVEN".

Organized religion and their affliations IMHO are the root of our problems. They consistently will fight and demand their positions in law. It has become fanatical. I read where the DC clergy are supporting that DC's law on civil unions. Good for them. Too bad more do not come out in voice, loudly. Even now with the Uniting Families Act allowing foreign permanent partners to enter the United States is being fought by evangalicals and of course the roman catholic bishops. For what, undermining the value of marriage. They will do anything, say anything to tromp on our civil rights.

You know whats funny... there were religious groups in this state that opposed making it mandatory for rape victims to be informed of plan b - an emergency contraceptive that does not alter existing pregnancies. They also opposed birth control to teenagers (who they simultaneously argue can't make any of their own decisions regarding their bodies) and every form of abortion (our state wants to enact different laws and exemptions for the classifcations). So on ONE hand they want every woman that gets pregnant against their consent to bear a child, on the other hand, they don't want any gay couples that do want children to have them. so what happens to the kids? Our state has a huge foster care problem. Big surprise. But thats the ingenuity of this state. As long as God is happy, who the hell cares about the people.

Funny how the Religious Right continue to show their hypocrisy as we've continually heard them whine that the GLBT community has tried to silence them.

Not only do they want to take away gay rights the want to take away the right to support gays and support gay rights. I guess the first amendment means nothing in Florida.
