Too bad the entire US wasn't like Washington DC in regards to laws that affect human rights. If it's against DC's charter of human rights, it can NOT be brought up for a vote.

I'd like to add that tax exempt status should be taken away from religious organizations since they seem to want to be involved in others rights and politics and laws of the land. LGBT people, for the most part, work, pay taxes, are law abiding people and yet we don't have the same basic rights as others in this country. This country should be ashamed of itself!

the fact that people get to vote on others civil rights angers me. Thomas Jefferson even said that the majority should never vote for the rights (or not) of the minority. When people voted on whether interracial couples could marry (and the various states where voting no) the supreme court stepped in and made it legal. Where is the court now? I continue to be appalled that others can vote for the rights of others. It's insulting and demeaning.

I have a bad feeling that if the people vote to allow for Gays and Lesbians to marry then the right-wingers will fight it in court. They spoken out of both sides of thier a** on this isuue. If the people vote to allow it, then they fight it in the courts or legislature. If the legislature or courts allow it, they fight it with votes. I wonder how many times they have to go back on their own words before their followers wake up and smell the pile of sh** that flows from their leaders mouths.
May Goddess Bless Those Who Learn and Grow!
Blessed Be,
Rev. Draigh Lunara

How can we hold the courts accountable to stand up for us and keep our rights out of the hands of these idiots?

Joey; Marriage is just a word, but it is a word that keeps gays as second class citizens.

I feel we really should stop with the friggin word. Thats what this is all about and quite frankly, I couldn't give a damn. We can call it Crayons for all I care. "I'mm gonne go get crayoned with my bf/gf!!!"

It's the rights that we're fighting for. Not the word.

I wish people fighting this fight would just realize that.

I personally don't care to ever get "crayoned"...I like having ownership of all my possessions.

Drop marriage peeps...go after the rights.
