Episcopal Church sues breakaway Texas diocese

(Fort Worth, Texas) The Episcopal Church has filed a lawsuit seeking to regain control of church property from the breakaway Diocese of Fort Worth.

The lawsuit was filed Tuesday in Tarrant County district court. Defendants include Fort Worth Bishop Jack Iker, who led the theologically conservative diocese to split from the national church over issues including gay clergy and women in the priesthood.

The Iker-led group voted last year to join a more conservative province of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

The Episcopal Church maintains that its rules prohibit dioceses from breaking away and that church properties are held in trust for the denomination.

Iker told The Dallas Morning News by e-mail that the lawsuit was expected.

    • I love it!

“Wait, you mean there are consequences to breaking away from the church because it isn’t homophobic?”

Congratulations, you have successfully broken away from the Episcopal church. Now get the hell off of Episcopal church property!

    • Jack Iker is a kristianazi. He needs a hot holy water high colonic and a LONG lie-down.

I wonder what’s going to happen when all this heretical, schismatic bishops discover they can’t ALL be arsebishop (sic) of the new breakaway Province.

Stand by for a round of “my mitre is taller than your mitre” (subbing for “my dick is bigger/longer/harder than your dick”).

You see, it’s ALL phallic one-up-man-ship.
