Are there good Christians? Sure. Is it our job to keep separating the good Christians from the crazies? No! Let them clean their own house before whining about all the negative connotations associated with that “religion”. This makes about as much sense as Jews deciding to call themselves Nazis and bitching about that negative image. If you (good Christians) feel compelled to continuously defend your religion, fine. Don’t expect me to clarify every time I point out the hate, persecution and evilness of many practicioners of that dogma. If this doesn’t apply to you, then why do you assume it is you I am talking about. These people need to get real and understand the harm their religion causes every day. THOSE are the idiots we are referring to.

There is a sizeable minority of parishes of various denominations (UCC, Episcopal, UU, MCC, etc.) and synagogues (mostly Reform) who DO welcome GLBTQAI people.

I don’t have much use for INSTITUTIONAL “Christianity” at this point in my life, but I wouldn’t like to see the GLBTQAI community engage in the same kind of discrimination against GLBTQAI “Christians” as the KKKKKK (see above) engages against US.

I wonder how many gay marriage opposers wouldn’t support a bill like that; and what their justification for not doing so would be.

To the campaign:

In your section on why voters should vote yes on Proposition 8, your site says that allowing marriage equality for same-sex couples would undermine “the value of marriage altogether at a time when we should be restoring marriage, not undermining it.”

I would like to know how many of you who fought so hard to pass proposition 8, and thereby devastate many, many California families, devalued your heterosexual marriages during the time same-sex couples were able to marry? I guarantee you that NONE of you thought, well gee, my marriage isn’t worth anything any more. Furthermore, I am quite sure that no clergy person from a religion that does not permit same-sex marriage was so demoralized that he or she refused to perform “traditional” marriages.

It is time to stop the lying and propaganda- marriage equality does not and will not devalue heterosexual marriages. Those heterosexuals who value marriage will continue to do so.

Until this hateful piece of legislation is repealed, either by the Supreme Court, or by the people of the state, be assured that I will not purchase a single product that is made or grown in California.
