Well the Bible states that we should do our job as if we were doing it for God. Now if a person wants to pass on a certian issue with their job they should not use God as an excuse to do so. Many people use the Bible to pass on doing simple things like their job.
Before everyone starts knocking the Word of God they should read it first. People can use any excuse not to do their job, sadly enough they want to miss-use scripture to do it. As for this person its just paper work their doing whats the big deal.
The Bible talks about many people choking on gnats and swallowing camels. This person has missed the mark.
Lets get one thing straight God Does NOT hate anyone! It doesn't matter who you are. God hates the nasty things we do. Saved and unsaved alike! The bible says love the sinner but hate the sin!
I realy hate it when I see church groups waving signs saying God hates you. Not true!
As for this article do your job and stop using God to pass the buck!

CORVINISM? really? at first i thought it said calvinism; i had to do a doubletake. I did not realize any homosexuals were popular enough to have a religion named after them. Then again, i was suprised to learn you have a web site and dvd and all that jazz. Huh, had no idea. Maybe he will make it down my way to the bible belt.

Michael and fred, christmas, easter...pagan holidays...not christian.

this gets at the whole issue here: they don't want religious exemptions. That is the foot in the door...the loose stone on top of John's slippery slope.

They want a christian theocracy, and they almost had it 5 years ago.

This is why this issue is so important. All these pagan holidays that are federal holidays are not christian, they come from our history before christianity and can be federal holidays for that reason, in my opinion. It is for me the reason I'm not objecting to them on constitutional grounds while I do object to christian symobolism during these holidays sponsored by government that gives the message they are christian holidays.

Sure, christians celebrate them as christian, but I don't. Jews don't. Pagans don't etc.

So we must not let religion in any of its forms gain control over government.

We must not:
-let it by christian christmas you get time off for
-let it by christian or religious marriage in any context. It is civil marriage that they choose to perform on the government's behalf.
-let anyone have any religious based "get out of equality free" pass.

If you are in a job (and I don't care if it is public or private sector) that requires you to serve the public, then you must do so without prejudice.

this goes to fertility doctors, pharmacists, town clerks etc. It goes for Scalia too but he doesn't seem to understand the job he holds.

Let's not forget it is religion we fight, in all of the causes where minorities are held back.

Makes about as much sense as myself, being a Nurse....saying I refuse to take care of a homophobe...which believe me, has crossed my mind often. Do I have that right...these people are getting ridiculous and are nothing more than primadonnas!

I believe the laws should be amended to strengthen separation of church and state and especially the amount of influence, monetary or otherwise, religions exert on our law making and law enforcing processes. When the RCC sends a bishop off to scold a Kennedy, we are seeing an unconstitutional removal of stones from that wall, and when they threaten him with sanctions (e.g. no sacraments) the church has clearly gone too far. I say, let's tax all churchs that engage in lobbying.

I used to work for a major national bank processing extremely high-dollar wire transfers, who one of the bank's clients included Focus on the Family. As a professional, it was my responsibility to do my job, which included dealing with them as just any other client. From my experience, no one in a professional setting is given the latitude to decide which customers that they get to serve. Those who try to cherry-pick only doing business for customer who are their friends are not true professionals. Going to war and killing people is where conscientious objection is applicable, but not in the professional arena. If someone cannot perform the work for whatever reason, then they need to find a job outside of the professional arena which makes these allowances.

This is what happened recently with the clerk who wouldn't grant the marriage license for the bi-racial couple. He lost his job. Working for "We the People" is not the same as working in the private sector. You have to follow the rules that govern all of us. So if you have a problem of conscience, change jobs. Unless you want atheists discriminating against your Christmas, Easter or other religious holidays.

Your religious freedoms stops where my personal freedom begins.
