Conservative Christian university official busted in gay sex sting
12.03.2008 4:40pm EST
(Cincinnati, Ohio) The chief financial officer of Cincinnati Christian University has pleaded not guilty to prostitution charges.
Police arrested Robert Williams, 52, on the weekend after he allegedly got into a man’s car in Mount Airy Forest and “touched his genitals.”The man in car was an undercover cop.
Williams has been placed on administrative leave while the case continues.
“We are shocked and dismayed by the news,” said Cincinnati Christian University President David Faust in a statement. “This is a personal tragedy for him and for his family, and we lift them up in our prayers.”
Openly gay students are not accepted by the university, and students who come out can be expelled.
Cincinnati Christian University was founded in 1924 and has about 540 undergraduate students.

How completely and utterly unsurprising.
“and we lift them up in our prayers”,
gee, what else could you possibly do?
was this a prostitution sting, or are the good cops of Cincinnati working on “busting” homosexuals?
The hypocrisy of the school official doesn’t surprise me in the least. But I’m wondering what the police are protecting the public from????
Tee-hee-hee-hee-hee-hee!
It’s a shame that in America a person can be expelled from a university for being gay! Where are our equal rights? God bless America!!
The higher they stand on their ‘Soapbox’against Homosexuality, the bigger “Power-Bottom” they are… …And some people act so shocked and dismayed by the truth of these hippocrates…
Be careful before you jump to conclusions on this. I am intimately familiar with this park and the “sting” operations that Cincinnati PD runs in this park. I used to eat lunch in my truck in this park. (When I lived in Cincinnati.) One day, an undercover cop came up to my window and made remarks trying to get me to expose myself. I smiled at him and showed him my Children’s Services Badge. He turned away and left.
Now mind you, this sting operation had been going on for decades. Ohio used to have a law on the books called Importuning. What the law said was that (and this is absolutely serious) if someone of the same sex made unwanted advancements towards a person, they were in violation of the law. Seriously, you could be arrested for asking someone out for coffee!!!!
Anyway, CPD has a HORRID record as far as entrapment and for lieing on these situations.
Just be careful on this story.
A bit of background: at least 60% of Cincinnati is über-conservative German-Americans, mostly Roman Catholic, many of whom are descended from the Nazis who were imprisoned at the big airbase in Dayton, and who refused repatriation after WWII.
Most of the anti-gay nonsense in Ohio emanates from that corner of the state.
If you recall, it was the infamous Sheriff Simon Leis who ARRESTED the director of the Contemporary Art Museum for displaying the Mapplethorpe photos.
Evidently nobody has told the Cincinnati PD about Lawrence et al. v. Texas. In law, it CANNOT be ILLEGAL to ask for an ACT that IS legal.
But that Mt. Airy Forest sting has been going on ever since I can remember.
I was in college there in the 1970s. I was stopped by the Cinti PD for driving down the street on a hot summer day with my roommate (a friend, not a lover), because we both had our shirts off (!) (um, we’re both MEN). We were interrogated for an HOUR; finally the officer gave up.
I see things haven’t changed.

Bud, I normally just ignore your ridiculous rants. But, I can not let stand your absolutely baseless charges and accusations.
I was born and raised in Cincinnati. I lived in the city until I was 32 years old. My ex is from Dayton. (He and I moved to Atlanta together.) He lived in the area for 38 years. My mother, father, step-mother and step-father still live in the area.
I can tell you more about the History of Southern Ohio than you could ever look up or read about.
Many people in Cincinnati are of German Descent. The German Population dates back to the 1800’s. (not from your fantasy about Nazi prisoners at Wright Patterson AFB) The entire area of “Over The Rhine” was settled long before WWII.
Cincinnati has a lot of problems and a lot of issues. I don’t think I could ever live in the area again. But, their people are good at heart. It’s the politicians (both Democrat and Republican) that cause 90% of the problems in the area.
Bud…see the blog re “2nd Class Citizen”, there and elsewhere there are those of us who want a version much more like…
FIRST CLASS TAXPAYER, with Second Class Civil Rights….
Interesting about CINNCI history…. But it is still satisfying that this poor ‘innocent’ soul got stung…and accused anyway.
Oh I’m sure the guy was just trying to re-enact the biblical scene (Genesis 24:9) where the servant of the patriarch Abraham “placed his hand under the thigh” of his master… sorta like putting your hand on the Bible to take an oath.
And the quote of the day from Ohio:
“Holy crap!”
Wow, this 52 year-old guy must have been really HOT to get picked up as a prostitute! Alright, daddy, that’s a twist on the world’s oldest profession…LOL.
does it bother anyone else that a person can get caught in a sting operation for picking up a same sex date in Cincinnati? That cops look to bust people in a park?
Granted, I’m not from Ohio, and I have no idea what the conditions are in this area of this town, but is there something wrong with a police dept. that dedicates time and money towards stingss targeting gays?
For me to say anything else on the hypocrisy of the religious is overly superfluous, however it does seem that the area police are targeting gays.
If someone of a public figure did not get arrested this would have passed under the radar, so now we need to see if rights are being abused by a homophobic police department, don’t be surprised if the captain is one of the boys just like in the money hungry churches.
