It seems to me that Christianity during the dark ages, the combination of corrupt popes and corrupt kings and emperors, killed tens of millions of muslims in the name of God no less, during 14 crusades. It poisoned Muslim society against the west- in their religion, culture and even language. An example is the word infidel, which was the word used by the so called Christians against those people. And 9/11 is just a delayed reaction, for societies have long memories, and there are always some ready to take up a cause, no matter how mad, because of this poisoning.

That is what we ought to be talking about – the right wing churches and their crimes.

And another example is the sexual predators loose within the Catholic church. When you take alter boys, and at age 13 or so make sex a taboo subject, all you do is delay it’s onslaught. And when these people picked up where they left off, it is not surprising why they went after youngsters.

And why, besides the fear of exposing their faith and absolute truths as a house of cards, did the church hide these crimes for decades? Most likely because the list of guilty parties includes much of the hierarcy.

Anyone can use the bible to justify whatever they want … as long as they’re willing to ignore the other 90% of the bible that diametrically opposes it.

That’s not the first time Renfroe invoked the Bible. He has no idea he represents a secular state in a secular nation. And, I notice Renfroe has nothing to say about eating shellfish, touching footballs, or wearing mixed fabric clothing.
