Church removes lector after gay memoir

(Boston. Massachusetts) A Roman Catholic church in Boston has removed a man from lay leadership posts over a book he wrote describing himself as “a happy porn-writing Sodomite.”

Scott Pomfret served eight years at St. Anthony Shrine. The book, “Since My Last Confession,” mocks Cardinal Sean O’Malley and suggests some local clergy are sexually active.

Pomfret said he was amazed the friars removed him from leadership because he interviewed many for the book.

    • Hahahahahahaha! Ah, the Catholic Church – they’d be quite amusing if not so [messed] up.

    • Boston … gotta love it. Baked beans, butt-pirates, and book-banning (chuckle). And “bishops wearing lace all over the place.” (snort!)… that’s SO gay (grin).

      Cheers,

    • It is for this reason why I left the Roman Church and now attend a Parish of the “Old Catholic Church” which is fully Catholic with all the sacraments, with apostolic succession of its priests and deacons and NONE OF THE GUILTY and DESTRUCTION of the RCC… In Milton MA at The CHurch of Our Savior – Holy Family Old Catholic Community ever Sunday at 12 N!!! This Sunday at 4 PM..

    • It is for reasons such as this that I left the Roman Church for the “Old Catholic Church” which is so receptive to the needs of the GLBT community and here in Boston there 2 Parishes, the one In Milton – Holy Family Catholic Community meets every Sunday at 12 and they are fully Catholic with all 7 Sacraments and the Clergy all have Apostolic Succession — There is no hate or guilt toward a persons’ sexuality as every persons personal humanity is respected as a gift from God!
We meet every Sunday at 12 N (this Sunday at 4 PM) come join us and worship without fear, intimidation or guilt!!!

    • Bud, I always seem to agree with you. The RCC, a bunch of closet cases in drag…come on, you’re in the closet, but you dress in those robes…don’t you think people will figure it out.

Reading the local news here in Mass it is amazing the mob hasn’t attacked O’Malley. I’ve called his office a few times and asked for him, was asked what it was in reference to and when I explained I’d like to discuss his illegal political activity in the marriage debate, the poor woman on the phone just didn’t know what to say to me.

We all knew priests at some point and laughed at them, didn’t we? For me it was seeing the seminary students with their little white collars hanging out at the gay coffee shop…oh my, it was so obvious. And of course later in the evening seeing them cruising the parks. This was Rochester, NY where I lived briefly……had a seminary, so of course had gay priests prowling around a lot.

I just said it recently on another story..why does this guy belong to that club? You can join many social clubs, the RCC being one of the worst. Why would you stay, give money and time, when they HATE YOU. Go somewhere you are welcome.

And while I have all your attention…please work to end the tax exemption for evil religion. They should have a hate tax applied, not an exemption!

    • Because he threatens the next great scandal in the church, after the leadership protected their perverts for decades.

If our laws were properly enforced, there would be no shortage of priests and their heirarchy to hold mass in prisons all over the nation.

And the church would be destroyed if they got rid of all their good (but closeted) priests.

Tell me, how can anyone be both gay and a priest. Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do. And how they must internally suffer.
