Throwing him in prison will make him a martyr.
Fining him *BIG* time sends more of a statement than anything.
There is little to be done to put a chink in his ego other than say make him volunteer in an AIDS charity might do it.

Isn’t it progress that this is even an issue at all? Can you really tell me that 10 years ago or more that making anti-gay comments, especially an NFL player, would have even made a blip on the radar? I know everyone wants complete tolerance, but I have to say that I’m impressed this is even an issue now.

I suppose Dave would rather people give up sports, and join a book club. Or perhaps, a karaoke club. As much as I think puppies are cute, I still think it’s an entirely hypocritical standpoint to be in favor of having laws that protects only cats, and dogs. Shall we get rid of the meat farms as well? But what on earth will the rest of Americans do with their spear time, if they don’t have sports, and fast food restaurants? My oh my.

It’s called a market system. Johnson gets paid that type of cash because there are not many folk who can do what he does.

As for the rant against sports, I didn’t know being into sports had anything to do with being an adult. Be disgusted all you want. I’m watching baseball tonight and basketball this week-end. Go Spurs!

600k for one game? What is wrong with this country? Michael Vick and people like this guy. Even without the slur, badmouthing your coach?

Why would anyone watch these sports that celebrate childish behaviour, homophobia and denigrating women (they still have cheerleaders???????)? Anyone watching a game Vick plays in is simply endorsing animal torture. He should still be in jail and should never be hired by a company that has any inckling about PR.

but then I’m so naive….look who watches these sports.

So sad, my father as depressing as it is, seems to have been right: 95% of humans are complete idiots.

Sorry gay sports fans. If the shoe fits…..I’m completely disgusted by people who support this behaviour with their wallet and eyeballs. Grow up and get a conscious (and a pair while you’re at it).

Actually, a 1-game suspension is not sufficient. He should also be forced to contribute to some social group that works to prevent bullying – and perhaps be made to spend some time working for some community effort in that direction.
