I told them that the AIDS/HIV mortality rate is higher than whats being reported thus there have to be more people being infected. There was a woman from the AIDS unit in Maryland that became irrate with me when i told her about my findings. I sign death certificates all the time, i speak with doctors and with nurses and most definitely with familys. In New Jersey in the early 1990's it was required before filing a death certificate that the donor certificate accomapny the death certificate. Well on the donor sheet it will read AIDS or HIV on it (of course the decedent is not eligible to donate anything)but on the death certificate, the death certificate will say pneumonia, or lymphoma or cervical cancer. all as a result of the AIDS /HIV infection. the death Certificate is where the CDC get there statistical information from. I explained this to the woman from the CDC, and she stated she was very disturbed by this information. She also stated that funding from the governament would be provided for housing, medication and other treatment, but if the stats are not reported properly then the funding was be inaccurate. From July 2004 to August 2008, four years and a month later and now they make this suppose new found discovery. No. I informed them before now, just imagine all those people that went without because of poor statistical information from every state in the union not just NJ. Imagine all those people that were infected because they didn't know that there spouse or partner(male of female) was infected. thinking they died of something else.
