To those poster who don’t want soon to be ex-miss Califoria to be attach. What plant are you from. Yes she has a right to opinion but she is also a public figure. Her rights to privacy no longer applies and being a spoke person for a bigotry group makes her no different than David Duke the grand wizard of the KKK.

She is a bigot and we as Americans do not have to allow her opinions to influence others. Just as King refuse to allow people like Duke to speak hatred we don’t have have to meekly standby and allow a public figure to influence public opinion that will and can put our gay brothers and sisters in danger.

After all hatred is NOT a family value.

This kind of battle isn’t won by attacking, especially someone who’s only crime is that she stated her opinion when asked. Anyone can fight mad, but if you want to really win, you fight smart. Do you honestly think Iowa, Maine and the other states voted for us to be able to marry because of crud like perez hilton? No, it happened because they were convinced it was the right thing to do.

Robi again, see here, I do not advocate guns and swords in the fight for equal rights. So, let’s not play the semantics game. Would there be a post-Stonewall and a post-Anita Bryant, if it were not for the many courageous gay people who were motivated to stand and FIGHT? None of us would be talking about gay marriage at this moment if that had not happened. And pretty Prejean would not have made her ignorant Bible-based remarks. Phelps would be happy to squish you underfoot, but instead, the UK has banned him permanently, not by pollyanna niceness, but by fighting-mad defenders of the rights of gays.

The only true statement here is that Miss California “is not perfect.” She needs to realize that one of her primary imperfections is her homophobia. “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” is an inalienable right guaranteed to all Americans, and this includes the right to marry.

Sometimes i’m ashamed of gays because they are going about it the wrong way. and their bigotry really irks me because it’s no different than that of others who oppose gay rights for the very same reason. gays are human beings as well. so i guess gays are prone to succumb to the pettiness of the human race (while cunningly pushing their own agenda, like the rest of the other of self-interest groups in the world).
