Here here! I'm upset at the decision to have Warren deliver the invocation, but I can't help but think that Kors is using his "outrage" to deflect the mismanagement of the No on 8 campaign and avoid having to answer for his part in it. Bush said "No WMDs? Look over there! Gays gettin' married!" Kors is saying "We denied support from national and grassroots organizations and took vacations in the middle of the campaign? Look over there! Rick Warren! And I'm gonna show all of yas how angry I am! Grrrr!"

“This is not a political issue - it is a moral issue that God has spoken clearly about.”

god clearly spoke about?
to who, when?
are they talking about an age old written text that has been rewritten multiple times. to the writers liking.
i believe that would be hearsay and not direct evidence. not inadmissible in a court of law

Mr> Obama really has egg on his face now. How can he say one thing and do exactly the opposite and still claim to be a president that represents all the people. It's not a social issue. It's a bunch of small-minded people using religion to trample all over the basic human rights that we as gay people deserve. I think you listened to the wrong people when you invited mr. warren. I hope this is just a glitch and not the way you are going to handle things in the future. I worked hard for you Mr. Presedent elect. Please work as hard for us gays as you do for everyone else!

Kors should show up in DC, wearing a flamboyant rainbow colored jacket. Deliver a message.

And deliver a special cross as a present to Rev Warren. With the end of the left side piece of the cross bent up, and the other side similarly bent down.

For that is what Warrens Cross is in reality - a semi-swastika.

Obama’s brushing aside of Gay objection to Warren as an unacceptable religious leader to provide the invocation at his inauguration is wrong. This historic inauguration lives America’s mandated destiny that all men are unequivocally equal. One would hope that Obama would be among the most understanding when it comes to living with unjust prejudice and hate. Barack Obama by selecting and defending Rick Warren chooses a man who uses his pulpit to ferment hate against a specific citizens. Warren, among other things, equates Gay with Pedophilia. And to paraphrase him, there is no need to be concerned about oppressing Gays since Gays only represent 2% of the population. Gay marriage is a phony issue that panders to human kinds worst character, oppressing another to advance ones self. The concern of this writer is that Obama is allowing the very Gay hate mongering that Republicans used to ingratiate themselves to the religious right. Obama disingenuously defends Warren by a claim that Warren merely holds a divergent view. Hate speech is hate speech and not divergence. The pulpit is no place for it. Warren does not discuss the point. Rather he recruits God as his authority in promoting hate. A paraphrasing of Obama’s former pastor, Jeremiah Wright, who may have been correct when he observed that Obama will say what one wants to hear to be elected, but in the end he will be just another pandering politico. I hope not. But if Obama does not listen to concerns of the Gay community and Warren is allowed to give the invocation with the cover of open dialog, then Wright wasn’t wrong. Is this the beginning of another long siege of government sanctioned Gay hate from a man who’s own ethnicity was and remains victimized by the same kind of hate? Actions and not inclusive words will tell.

Obama says we need to include those who disagree on social issues? Why doesn't he invite the imperial wizard of the KKK to the inauguration, because that seems like merely a disagreement on social issues as well.

People who don't have the guts to tell someone flat out that they are wrong don't really have a social conscience.

Disappointing, Mr. Obama.

Thanks for your votes, [freaks]. Now get to the back of the bus... us straight people have some laws to make. Don't you have a woman to make-over or a house to decorate or something?

I am actually surprised that the gay and lesbian community is surprised that we have once again been "thrown under the bus". While the Democrat party has courted the community (and have been slightly less harmful to our rights) they have been far from friendly. Until we as a group--a strong and united group--stand-uup and say "No more! We will not be a part of any celebration that includes those that choose to stomp on our liberties" will we be taken seriously. The community takes the stand "oh, but the other side is so much worse". The lesser of two evils, is still evil!
