So what if there's a law that men can enter the ladies' room? There's also much harsher laws against kidnapping and rape. It's not like those were repealed.

Just to give the restrooms an extra layer of oh-so-mild protection (that would never deter any serious predator in the first place), these voters are willing to give landlords the power to kick their gay tenants to the curb, and employers the power to fire their gay employees?

Now, I'm the first person to look at the other side on all gay rights issues, and the last person to call someone a homophobe just for dissenting with a gay issue. But seriously, no one could see this trade-off as fair unless they didn't consider gay people as proper US citizens. I seriously doubt anyone who'd vote to repeal this bill has their children's best interest in mind. And I even more seriously doubt anyone who has stronger-than-average feelings about repealing it secretly doesn't want to see the gay barista who serves them their coffee rotting homeless in an alley and replaced by a straight employee.

I currently reside in Gainesville as a gay Univ. of Florida student. The hype around this amendment has been huge around campus and the city alike. I am so proud to be living in a town that bends over backwords to make the LGBT community feel welcome and safe. UF, in a similar fashion, has made there official position against the passage of the amendemnt and from my perspective, most students on campus are vastly against it as well. While it infuriates me that socially conservative groups use every chance they get to try to disenfranchise and alienate the LGBT community, it sometimes takes instances like these to show America that not everyone is homophobic and that hopefully this abominable group is becoming smaller and smaller with every vote cast against there 18th century, outdated, and demeaning beliefs.

You can believe that what ever they call themselves it is the Right Wing Religious Charlatans working to legalize discrimination.
Through Fear and Deception religion Legislates and Legalizes Discrimination and prevent Legislation that would give Equal Rights. Just assess what happened in California with Prop 8!

Jeeez! Over 30 years ago, Anita Bryant spearheaded a campaign in Florida to revoke gay rights. And now it's happening AGAIN?!! What is WRONG with these people? Just ask me when the next time I plan to vacation in so-called "Sunshine State"! Never, that's when!
