This story is so sad in that it hilites the need to have mormon approval for laws in Utah. We know the cynical reason for their support, but I’m not bemoaning it. However, it shouldn’t have been needed, unless we acknowledge the sad fact: the people who pass these laws are mormons themselves and are not living up to the oaths they took, if they had to wait for their cult to give them clearance.

We have a theocracy in this country and the battle is going to be over which cult gets to set the rules. The idiots that fund the cults and let us get to this situation are going to be very surprised when they find out a different cult won and they become the victims of bigotry.

People are so short sighted. this is why smarter cultists respect the establishment clause.

I trust the Mormons about as Far as I can throw the sum weight of their religion including all individuals, churches, property and the hot air that makes up their egos. In other words I DIStrust mormons on principle. I grew up as a mormon.

The only reason they are doing this is damage control, and frankly they’ve fought enough against my rights to cement my opinion that they are not only abusing the rights and privileges they’ve been granted but that they are not deserving of them.

This is one gay man who hopes the mormon church loses their tax exempt status and is recognized for the cult that it is.

Facebook User, under the law, religious cults are permitted to lobby as long as they don’t endorse a specific candidate. What I also find objectionable is that they can contribute donations to organizations such as NOM. That’s indirect interference in the political process and these parasitic cults should be banned from even doing that.

Although they can’t be called allies of equality, I’d have to say thank you to them for their support on this issue. Our goal is full equality under all matters governed by civil law, so I’m certain that our paths will cross again once the battle lines are drawn again.
