I no longer believe in political dynasties either. While every state has the right to decides its course, I don’t think we need “another Kennedy” who hangs in there forever in the same public office until he or she dies while in office.

I would be OK with a very rare US constitutional amendment of this idea. One that does not allow any Congressman or Congresswoman to keep a seat in the US Senate or US House of Representatives for more than 2 terms during their lives so that the voters in any state, territory (Micronesia or parts of it) island(s)(American Samoa, US Virgin Islands, Guam etc) or commonweath (Puerto Rico) or federal city (Washington, DC)of the US can’t be allowed to hand anyone maybe a lifelong career (if she or he is lucky) in the US national legislature.

Roger, it’s interesting you would try to stereotype me and pass judgement on somebody you know nothing about. I do plenty to educate other LGBTs about the status of civil rights and fights thereof. I was simply posing a rhetorical question for honest debate.

So who is the alternative, Matt87? This is the problem with all the snarky folk who simply don’t even try to be informed or make a difference. Biden would have had a chance to win this race and would have been an allie of ours. The other guy…Castle, no friend of ours.

It’s not about dynasties, it’s about who would be there for us. Dynasty or not.

The comment of ‘a dealing another blow to President Barack Obama’s flailing party’……must be news sensationalism. I don’t see for myself how his not running for the Senate…PERIOD…makes Obama’s Party Flailing. It is not a major crisis…just as a Republican winning Kennedy’s old seat. There are many making up stories for whatever reason….but I do know…it is not news worthy. Lets see if the news people can stop making news and write something worthy….like someone helping someone. Something good and worth while. The nay saying politician don’t deserve the free publicity to promote browny points they don’t deserve to win more years in office…..cause it seems, that is their only reason being there is for themselves. I like to see those naysayers prove me wrong.
