Wow, what brilliant outreach. The first two families on the GetToKnowMe.org website are raising black kids but aren't black. "Hey black people, you guys are so fucked up that you can't raise your own kids. Repeal prop 8 so that we (rich white queers) can raise them for you!"

Take it easy now. The 2010 vote is less than 2 years away. Even by the time the courts finish up with this mess it will be around the middle of 2010. We've waited a long time for equality and yes we do want it right now, but realistically, we just have to win the small battles. For us, once we win them, it is very hard to repeal them because the anti-gays don't have the long term public backing that we have. It doesn't really affect their life, but it tears our lives apart. Whether it be 2010, 2012 or 2014, we are on the right track. I just feel sorry for all those older couples who may never see it before they pass on. Here's an idea. MAKE SURE YOU ARE VOTING!!

I don't know how long this marriage back-and-forth in California will go on for. Now it is legal. Now it is illegal. Who knows anymore. And frankly, I'm getting sick of talking about this state as if it were the centre of the universe. It is ridiculous how much of a distraction this Prop. 8 nonsense has become.

New Jersey might legalize same-sex marriage next year. Perhaps that's where the focus should be (preventing the religious right from overturning that expected development).

Lets call California what it is. It is a dysfunctional Banana Republic where the masses pass constitutional amendments to protect chickens, the legislature can never pass a budget on time, and wealth disparities are predictably leading to skyrocketing crime rates. San Francisco might as well be Cape Town. And L.A. could convincingly pass as a Johannesburg.

So how long will this go on? Will gay marriage be subject to voter discretion with each election cycle?

I don't care about propositions anymore because they don't secure anything. What we need is a final court decision that decides once and for all where gay couples stand, not the majority voters each election cycle, pro or con.

Gay people shouldn't have to live with the insecurity of their marriages being legal or not every couple of years!

Get rid of Federal level DOMA, at the same time working on repealing Prop 8 and other antigay amendments. Repealing Federal DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act that would solve some more problems at the US border and within the US territory.

2010? Yeah right! How about 2016 or 2017!
Does anyone really thinks that between the blue dog democrats ,the republicans and a President such as Obama who's more than happy to accommodate and pander to homophobes while at the same time labeling himself as someone progressive we are going to see any reverse of Prop 8's. Not in Cal and not in any other state. Massachusetts and Connecticut is as good as it's gonna get for now.
Rick Warren giving the Invocation at the Inauguration is only the start. Obama is only beginning to pander to the homophobes that he needs to get reelected, if he wants another four more years in the White House.

Sorry ACLU, but I actually agree with the high school who asked the girl to remove her political t-shirt. Maybe college is ok for free-speech, but I believe the line should be drawn when it comes to such "controlled" environments like grammar and high schools.
