where is the seperation of church and state we have to keep the church out of politics and if they don,t we should tax each and everyone of the institution. when pastors tell their menber how to vote thats trampling on individual rights of each person .
Im so tired of voting for people that say they will support us and when they get in office they act like we don,t exist or its a token act and then they say look what I have done for them .

I am outraged by Mr. Obama’s choice of Rick Warren to deliver any type of address at his inauguration. His comment that “coming together” is what his campaign was about didn’t strike me at the time as including divisive, hate mongering individuals in his circle.
My partner and I are raising a seven year old son. We are not pedophiles, incestous or polygamist.
I’m surprised more people have not spoken up and expressed their outrage at this choice!

We could have used a little more of this resolve, energy, and focus four months BEFORE the Prop 8 election in CA. Do you think maybe we’re scapegoating Obama because we got caught sleeping in CA this past summer, we’re embarrassed, and we’re looking for some way to feel empowered again, no matter how trivial the situation?

And for those of you who think people like me would “open the oven doors with a smiling face” or say “yes, massa” to my slave master, I go back to MLK Jr. and Ghandi. Did they quietly acquiesce to their oppressors? No. Did they spend a lot of time focusing on attacking and excluding their oppressors? No. They fought for the righteousness of their causes, WITHOUT making it about “getting” the other guy. That’s part of why the public eventually mobilized behind their causes.

Obama and his handlers, aka “advisors”, whipped out their scale of justice:
kkkhristian kkkonservatives on this side of the scale _/|\- gays on this side. To their glee, the scales fell in favor of the “religious” right and their ability to rally and organize voters en masse. So, like previous politicos before them, they turned their backs on us.

This just shows that Obama, like most straight folks, as good intentioned as they may be, just don’t get it.

To think that our relationships are less valid because we are gay is extremely offensive. You can almost hear them say – It’s cute but not a “real” adult relationship.

This is not about disagreeing on social issues – this is about rude, offensive and derogatory language aimed at demeaning people.

Horrible behavior from a pastor – horrible person to present to the world.

Good grief. Do we know how stupid we’re looking at with taking such a hardline response? I mean thank goodness for Rev. Lowrey being there. I might be upset if you he weren’t there too, but maybe not.

The point is that LGBT rights leaders should have taken a slightly different stance on it. Say that they do not endorse Rick Warren’s appointment because he does not support full marriage equality and other rights for LGBT people, but hope that this can create a dialogue between the LGBT community and those of the evangelical faith that have been opposing LGBT rights. Let’s have hope for this.

THAT’S the message that should have been put out there. And I’m a “W.E.B. Du Bois” here not a “Booker T. Washington,” if you will- and I EVEN SEE THIS!

GOOD GOD I hope we, the ones who are so you’re-either-with-me-OR-you’re-against-me, stop this! How Bush-like of us. Good grief!
