I don't agree with insuling my country but my state is the first in the country to legalize gay marriage and we have come a long we in only a period of about 6 years since the first equal marriage state my state of Massachusetts. I was originally fooled into thinking of California as the best progressive state but when I found out in december of 2003 that gay marriage may soon be legalized as soon as may 20th of 2004, my eyes were glued to NECN for the longest time every time the house of representatives were arguing over our supreme court decision. It's 2010 now and Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and even DC as well as Iowa allows for equal marriage rights! Rhode Island and New York at least rcognize marriages performed elsewhere and many other locations have some kind of recognition of same sex couples. Could one even say that in the 90? I believe we will have gay marriage by at the very least 2014 nationwide and my apologies to those who may be deceased before they get there chance on behalf of the slow pace of this important future that involves true Liberty and Justice for all. I believe in the future of our world and hopefully more people will have a good reason to feel the same way. For anybody reading from my birth city Springfield Mass, I do plan on becoming mayor of our beautiful city full of so much potential. WATCH ME WIN!!!

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to this couple. Testimony from the Prop 8 trial (as well as simple common sense) tells us how wrenching that can be, to have your marriage taken away from you.

However, there is light on the horizon, and it will not be long before these men will be called husbands again.

Societies appear to be changing a bit at a time in this part and that of the world.

Still waiting to hear from Nepal that marriage equality is finally legally in effect and in force in that part of Asia.

Let's see what 2010 brings.

The ball is in play. The inevitable will happen - Justice for gay people

And the end of the grip on the minds of people by the most oppressive monster in the western world. The CAtholic church.

BTw, Mexico city has marriage, and Mexico's Cohuila state has civil unions.

Columbia grants marriage rights under common law.

Uraguay has civil unions.

Brazil is similar to Argentina - partial rights all over the country, and more rights in certain areas of both countries
