I have not found a single, word-for-word reference in the Bible that says anything against homosexuals. Not a one.

Actually, the children are NOT hurt by this crazy decision. They are saved from being screwed up by Catholic teachings, and even from abuse. While the pedophile priests are best known, the nuns also have a sorry history of abusing children as well. The parents of these children should thank the homophobic priests for saving their children from the pain they regularly impose on their charges. There are lots of good secular schools and good Episcopal schools that do not discriminate or teach bigotry. I would NEVER send a child of mine to a Catholic school.

aND AS USUAL the only ones hurting most are the children. The school is for the children not the parents nor the Pope. Everyone is not where you are on the spiritual journey so you throw them off the path???

Please note the archbishop's words: "It’s also true that some of our schools exist as a service outreach in largely non-Catholic communities. Many of our schools also accept students of other faiths and no faith, and from single parent and divorced parent families." Now, single parents and divorced parents do NOT fall into the category of living within the church's beliefs. What a fucking bunch of hypocrits. Catholic moralty seems to be based on three things: Hatred, bigotry and hypocrisy.
To the lesbian parents affected, best you keep your children out of the church's clutches. In that way they won't be abused psychologically or sexually by the "good" Catholic fathers.

Thank God, the Archbishop has acted to save the children from child abuse and indoctrination into bigotry. I can't imagine why the parents of these children would subject their kids to such potential abuse. It's not as though we don't know about the Church's problems with bigotry and pedophilia.

The Catholic Church is going against the direct teachings of Jesus, who clearly says "Suffer the little children to come unto me". Could not find anything in the new testament that said "But if their parents are gay, tell them to scoot off home and never come back" I for one have NEVER believed the churches statement regarding "Love the sinner hate the sin" They still don't get it. Most of the world believe they are the Holy Roman Hypocritical Church, and this has just reinforced that perception

I don't get why any gay person would want to put their children in a Catholic school.. I get it, the church is homophobic because they exclude gays, but do you really want to put your children through that? The church isn't going to change it's stance on gays just because your kids go there. Do you want your kids going to school and learn all about how wrong it is to be gay? Did these parents even stop to think about any of this?

I just wanted to put a thought out there for all those who are angered by the idea of these women who decided to put their child in a Catholic school. While I understand that the church's teaching are completely against homosexuality, as a lesbian who went to catholic school for 12 years, I can honestly say that if I were a parent and my options were public vs. Catholic school, 9 times out of 10 I would choose the Catholic school. I got an awesome education that wouldn't have been possible given the schools in my area, and I think people often do things that contradict their beliefs.

I currently live in NYC, a city that I love, in the state that I've lived in all my life, and currently I'm discriminated against in terms of marriage rights. Hell, I live in this country, and the fact that a good portion of the population would call me a freak and deny me rights doesn't mean I'm going to pack up and move.

I think that, while the church needs to change (clearly), the church is much like a slow moving government - it can change, whether it be through legal action or through progressive people through the centuries. And, regardless of it's current state, there will always be LGBTQ people of faith who choose to follow some of it's teachings, just as I continue to remain a US citizen even though I disagree with many of my country's decisions.

But they really do need to file a discrimination lawsuit. :)
