May God be with the Zapata family. I am so proud of the jury that came back with the verdict. Allen Andrade deserves the life w/out parole sentence, actually he deserves death. Maybe this case will let the world see we don’t do this to another human being. I know this verdict will not bring Angie back to her family, but hopefully they can finally put this behind them and cherish the time they had with her. Finally JUSTICE was served.

This brings tears to my eyes; she didn’t deserve to die, just like Gwen Araujo didn’t either. I want to believe that hate crimes laws will be a deterrent, but it’s more about the hateful effects of organized religion on the minds of the weak – that’s the core of the problem.

I’m glad that justice has been served. I hope that the family can find some comfort in the fact that hate crimes legislation is making a difference.

Thank god! Though it is of little comfort to this poor girl’s family and friends. This being the 1st case in CO with the hate crime addition is a huge advance and hopefully will make things safer for everyone!!!!
