This form above is to report the Mormon church for it's violation of tax law. I also accused them of sponsoring terrorism. When a church or religion deliberate uses its money and voter base to deny the rights of others, in a Talibanesque fashion, that is terrorism.

But remember, the church does not control its members. 94% of catholics violate church doctrine on birth control, and many of them support gay relationship legality, but see the word marriage as a religious term.

You can win over the middle if you are all smart, and do not drive the middle furhter into the arms of their church with your own version of hatred, however justified it may seem.

And don't bother with the real hard core right wing, who are so brainwashed it is impossible for them to change. And often they are the secretly gay, so deep in the closet that they dare not come out, and actually are some of the worst of the haters of gay people. Such is the diabolical invention of the closet. All in the name of God.

But it is for God to send them to His re-education camp when their time comes. And for us to reach out to those who do have a real sense of justice, but need to understand what has been done to gays, by religious leaderships which are masters of psychology, and the true abomination before God.

We can do this, it just has to be done smartly, not emotionally. And do not fall into the trap they have laid for gay people - of driving the good hearted people in these religions - there are millions of them, further into the hands of their miserable leaders.

That's a no brainer! Yes, they deserve to be singled out for their war on gays in the last 11 years. But, we need to also focus on the "Roman Church", as we Episcopalians call that "church". What has happened is a threat to everyone. Who's next? This stupidity of the people deciding on what is constitutional is a joke. That's why we have a judiciary branch in our government. Keep fighting folks!

The church, historically, has been and is intolerant of others. Somehow they always turn it around to say they are the victims of intolerance. For example, in the early years of the church, the church members were counseled by church leaders to an elitist attitude - that they had the only truth and everyone else was wrong. This was only the beginning. The early church leaders admonished its members to only do business with other members creating economic problems within the towns and cities where they would settle. Another example, when the church leaders decided to establish polygamy as a standard church policy. They required in not all, but many cases, for women, already married, to divorce their husbands against their will and marry church leaders – also already married - very similar to what is going on in the now broken off polygamist sects. All of these behaviors by the church resulted in consequences. People reacted to these types of behaviors, not because they are bigoted against the church, but because the church caused harm and has been intolerant towards others. When the mobs began attacking the church it was as a result of the church members' actions, not because people were bigoted towards them. It was not okay for the mobs to attack, but there was a reason why they did. In modern times the church has continued behavior which results in a backlash and yet they try to blame others by stating that the church is the victim. These more modern acts have included performing temple baptisms for the dead - baptizing Jews that were victims of the holocaust without approval of their families; Lobbying to defeat the Equal Rights Amendment in the 70's, not allowing Blacks the priesthood until the end of the 70's, actively preaching against inter-racial marriages in the past, and now, excommunicating members who are gay and lobbying against them across state lines so that their rights to marry or adopt children are denied. These acts are reprehensible and have divided families, yet the church acts as if it is the victim. The church who battled to ensure that - not just in California, but also in all of the other states that have passed similar constitutional amendment laws - marriage can only be defined as between one man and one woman - this same church who regularly performs temple marriages with the view that a man and woman who are sealed (married) in the temple - often are not granted a dissolution of their temple marriage when getting a civil one (a divorce). In the eyes of the church, many marriages are never granted a church divorce. In these cases the church will allow a man to remarry in the temple and be "sealed" to another wife, while not allowing a woman to be sealed to another man. In the church's beliefs, they still believe in polygamy in the afterlife and encourage this as a way for people to gain the highest degree of the celestial kingdom (heaven). Although laws don't allow them to practice this "on earth" they believe in this practice to this day as one that will exist after death. This, my friends, is the hypocrisy of the church's behavior. They are in no way victims. On the contrary, they are perpetrators. Having said that, please know that we cannot stoop to their level. We must act as peaceably as Martin Luther King did in his day. Peaceful protests will be what help us win our cause.

After reading the comments by “Butch” Cassidy and Helen Westover, I think it is time to shed a more realistic perspective on things. While it is all fine and good to hold our peaceful protests all over the country, some of us understand that this will accomplish little to nothing in our struggle for equality. The passive approach has given us practically nothing in terms of civil rights in the 5 decades since Stonewall except perhaps in a few isolated regions and towns. Now that we have given our consent and blessing to have our civil rights voted upon, this may also change in the course of time.

What many fail to understand is the with people like “Butch” and Helen, there is no path to understanding and reason. In their limited minds, discourse and debate have no future because nothing we say will ever shine through their fog of religious hatred. We will not convince them of anything no matter how hard we try, no matter how much logic and reason we use, or how many peaceful protests we attend. Those of their kind do not want to co-exist with our kind, but they only wish to dominate and control those they perceive to be “not like them”.

They want nothing short than to place America under “God’s Law” and in this they are no different than the Talibans that rule Iraq and Iran, except in the flavor of their hypocrisy. Their rule would be no different except for the dogma under which they would persecute others, with one committing atrocities for Allah’s sake, the other for the sake of Jesus. In this they are no different that the Nazis in their quest to eliminate the Jews. Their goal is not to preserve the sanctity of marriage or to protect their children. Their goal is simply the extermination of the gay community and all those who refuse to believe as they do. They do not want us back in the closet, they want us in the ground, while they pat themselves on the back for another sinner dispatched, another soul saved and society is made safe once again for the true believers.

Protest if you like. Continue to make peaceful overtures to the religious zealots while they continue their campaign of hatred against us. In the end, this is a war, not just figuratively, but literally and no war was ever won by bringing pretty speeches to a gunfight.

To Butch Cassidy,

And just how is it that you believe that your CHOICE of religion gives you a "superior moral position"? And with all the contradictions in the "christian bible", how is it that you can even think that your CHOICE is even correct? Your so-called "holy book" was written by humans, published by humans and distributed by humans, and is daily interpreted by humans, but to many many different erroneous “styles, versions and interpretations”. You leave your brain out of gear and let your power-hungry, bigoted, evil clerics, ministers and priests do all of your thinking.

If the greatest commandment is to "love your neighbor as yourself", how is it that your members can SPEND SO MUCH money, time and effort on lies, hate and denouncements of their fellow humans? If you want freedom of religion, then you MUST allow others who believe differently to pursue their beliefs just as freely.

And just exactly what makes one religion correct and all the others wrong? If one is wrong, then they all must be wrong, because I cannot discern one good one over any others to be valid and correct.

If this “god” made me they way I am, then how can I be wrong from birth, or by even choice, because any choice I make is just as valid as your "questionable choice" to pick one religion over another.

And lastly, your desire to find you way to some unknowable and questionable after life does NOT trump my need to live a decent, kind, loving and meaningful "before death".
A silent, invisible and absent deity is not much of a deity. I surely doubt the veracity of any human who speaks for a “god:, because all humans are fallible and certainly have hidden agendas, with great prejudice. Let this “god omnipotent” appear undoubtedly and speak for him/her/its-self; after all, it is advertised as “all-knowing and all-powerful”. Perhaps it does not exist at all, or is really too busy to deal with the lowly supposedly “sentient” beings of this planet.

No matter the case, please leave your hatred, bigotry, lies and "questionable religion" at the door step when you leave your home or church. You have no right to push your ideas on others who have an entirely different, and JUST AS VALID" belief as your questionable ideas and beliefs". And again I repeat, IF YOU WANT FREEDOM OF RELIGION, THEN YOU MUST ALLOW OTHERS WHO BELIEVE DIFFERENTLY TO PURSUE THEIR BELIEFS, AND JUST AS FREELY AS YOU DESIRE.

What a bunch of sin, sick perverts!!1

How To Get To Heaven:
1. You will spend all of eternity either in heaven or in hell. Jesus Christ said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (Matthew 7:13)
2. Unforgiven sin is what damns a person to hell forever. The Apostle Paul said, “All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.” (Romans 2:12)
3. We are all sinners who need to be forgiven. The Apostle John said, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8)
4. We can never be good enough to earn forgiveness. The Apostle James said, “Whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.” (James 2:10)
5. Salvation is a free gift by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul told Christians, “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:10)
6. Jesus Christ paid the price for the sins of all who would believe in Him. The Bible says, “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…” (1 Corinthians 15:3)
7. We encourage you to pray and seek God’s forgiveness and grace today. The Apostle John said, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” Jesus Christ

4. We can never be good enough to earn forgiveness. The Apostle James said, “Whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.” (James 2:10)
5. Salvation is a free gift by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul told Christians, “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:10)

"By their fruits, ye shall know them"

When those cute young Mormon missionaries come to our doors, bringing their Books of Mormon to give potential new converts they often quote this scripture from the Gospel of Mathew, 7:16 to be exact. Mormons or members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to be exact, love to show off their good works. Their prophet and founder Joseph Smith broke with the protestant tradition of "By faith alone". He and Mormons believe that not only must you believe in Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon and the ordinances (aka sacraments) of the church but also must do good among men. And this doing good among men, is what our Mormon friends, neighbors and acquaintances take seriously. Those Mormon missionaries with their white shirts and black pants bicycling around sharing the Gospel according to Joseph Smith, are the most public face of their church. They try to do good, they offer to volunteer, help elderly people go to and from the pharmacy, help people moving in and out, they hold doors open and they do all of this with a genuine smile on their face and a desire to do good. As they preach their newer, more complete and restored Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Joseph Smith, they have a tough time selling to people that Native Americans are lost tribes of Jews who fled just before the Babylonian Captivity and that Jesus Christ after his Crucifixion appeared resurrected to these same Native American Jews as Quezacoatl. So more often than not, Mormons fall back on this scripture in the Book of Mathew as a means of validating themselves to potential converts who are likely skeptical of Joseph Smith's revelation.

The Mormon Church, very much like the Roman Catholic Church, recognizes that gay and lesbian people do not choose to be gay. Their current and former President (or Pope) has acknowledged scientific evidence that homosexuality is not and has never been a choice. But despite this the church still views homosexuality, same-sex marriage, and sex between same-sex couples as wrong. Far be it for me to tell Mormons what to believe, but here's why this matters to the rest of us. While Mormons seek the full protection of the First Amendment's protection of Freedom of Religion, due to their own history of persecution, they themselves don't feel obliged to respect the freedoms of others, particularly the Freedom to Marry, which gay and lesbian Californians had prior to Proposition 8. The Mormon church didn't simply preach their version of marriage in their own churches, chapels and temples, they used their church's vast resources and deliberately meddled in the political affairs of California, breaking not only federal law, but violating the sanctity and dignity of marriages between same-sex couples. By doing this, the Mormon church spread a campaign of deliberate lies, telling the voters of California that Prop 8 was not about being anti-gay, but pro-family. Marriage equality never threatened traditional heterosexual marriage it only extended the current legal definition to include same-sex couples, in accordance with the equal protection clause of both the federal and Californian Constitutions. The Mormon church lied, bore false witness, used its funds in complete contradiction of federal law and even it's own church doctrine. For gay and lesbian people, particularly married couples or couples on the verge of marriage, the Mormon fruit that is being born is not one of love and kindness but of hatred, intolerance and malevolent intervention in the private contractual affairs of people.

Mormons are wondering why there is so much venom, so much anger, so much hatred being shown to them. They need only look in the mirror, for those Mormons who didn't support Prop 8 and haven't ever harbored homophobia, they need to look at their church leadership. The Mormon church is getting the Lion's Share of the attention, because they donated the Lion's share of the Yes on Prop 8 money. "What thou sowest thou shalt also reap", Mormons have no one but themselves to blame for the venom being shown their way, for they sowed the seed of intolerance, bigotry and hatred. Gay and lesbian people have justifiably grown tired of religious based attacks on themselves and their rights. And we're judging Mormons by their fruits, and those fruits are bigotry, intolerance, malicious and slanderous lies. And as long as Mormons continue in their quest to force and legislate their beliefs on what marriage should be, gays and lesbians will be there to stop them.
