(Chicago) The nation’s largest doctors’ group has agreed to join efforts to repeal the military’s ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy.
The American Medical Association also voted to declare that gay marriage bans contribute to health disparities for gay couples and their children.Both gay-rights policies were adopted Tuesday at the AMA’s interim policy meeting in Houston.
The AMA says the ‘don’t ask, don’t-tell’ law creates an ethical dilemma for gay service members and the doctors who treat them.
The other measure declares that marriage bans leave gays vulnerable to being excluded from health care benefits, including health insurance and family and medical leave rights. The new AMA policy stops short of opposing the bans.
GiG. I am also a veteran of the Navy and proud to have served my country in what manner I could. Your senseless hate is what fuels attacks and violence against others such as myself. Being the victim of anti LGBT violence in the service is what ended my career abruptly.
However I do not cry foul or scream for recognition as you have so blatantly attempted to portray gay service members of doing. You refuse to see or acknowledge that a gay man let alone in uniform is capable and dedicated to the cause of liberty, and upholding the honor and dignity of this country.
Sadly you are gravely mistaken. Not only have I served, but my partner now serves at this very moment training to become a corpsman so that he may save his fellow sailors and marines lives and do some good for others.
The fact is, we are upon the threshold of repealing this homophobic, cowardly, damaging ban that discriminates not only upon fellow American’s lives and their families.
But also whether gays and lesbians “measure up” to the heterosexual and the stigma placed upon us by so many. GiG your God may be good. But mine is of unconditional love and would scorn you for being a hypocrite and akin to that of a Pharisee.
Christ preached a message of unconditional love and acceptance. Sadly I see many of his so called “followers” seem to be forgetting such things…

So before you attempt to belittle others with comments about bayonets being inserted into one’s rectum remember that you insult not only those who have gave of themselves for your right to do so, but also those that may also be of the same faith as yours…
Back to the story at hand. I’m ready to put the troll on a diet.
It’s great the mental health pro’s are standing up for us to lend science, compassion and human decency to a debate that is too often mired in religious intolerance and persecution.
We are currently fighting religious extremism and sacrificing the blood of our brothers and sisters to defend us from those who would use God as an excuse for murder. As a nation, this should move us to make damned sure that our own shores never fall under the idiocracy of Theocracy!

Your acceptance of my sexuality or of my rights as a human being or American citizen are not required, solicited or relevant. All I DEMAND is adherence to the ideals of equal human worth and protection under law that America stands upon. I may use a PC insted of a grenade launcher, but I’ll match my accuracy and effectiveness against an unarmed opponent like you any day.

I thought the point of regestering to comment on this site was to help weed out the Trolls. I feel sorry for GIG. His twisted words and facts only feed the hate in him. It must be horrible to feel so much hate. It is interesting that the ones who claim to preach love and forgivness are the same ones who teach and feel so much hate.
This site is for news and an open conversation on that news. Not to read the rants of a disturbed soul.

Do not pity me, for I don’t want nor need it. The time will come when all people are judged and, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but there will be a lot of surprised people.
As for military service, I too served honorably to defend your right to spew forth your vitriol and hatred. And almost everyone I knew in the military knew I was gay and guess what – it was never, repeat never, a problem.

The fact is, the GLBT has been trying to repeal DADT, for one simple reason. The GLBT desperately desire many more Matthew Sheppards, because they feel that they will win the hearts of heteros through martyrdom.
They want to increase the number of gays that are killed in the trenches, for political gain. Gays have always been pawns of the GLBT.
