What’s the matter with you? Why do you hate Southerners? Didn’t you get lucky in Dixie? Your grudge is hateful.
Southerners suffer a disproportionate rate of HIV infection. And we pay federal taxes too! But because we already live in a repressed society, we’re not deserving of federal funds to educate and/or treat infection locally? You suggest that those that need it the most should be shunned because we weren’t able to elect more enlightened representatives?
Try to get past your own political agenda and show some compassion for individuals in need instead of suggesting they get what they deserve for living in the South. I always thought my tax dollars went to those that needed it the most—not just those that subscribe to your political position.
Just because activists were less successful in enacting gay rights or local support for persons with HIV/AIDS, the federal government should let them perish? There are a lot of hot holy asses down south—pull your head out of your own, look beyond your own butt and maybe you’ll find out why your attitude stinks! Until then, please stop spreading your hate.

Yes indeed there should be federal funds being sent to help these people in need, but the sate goverments should be doing something also. Most of the progressive states have programs in place to help these people. Just because the SOuthern states choose to stagnate in their idotic conservative religious bastion does not mean that the federal goverment should cover their holy asses. Another point: Since these backwards reactionaries refuse to back health care reform (a stance that help out the major pharmaceutical companies) these mega corporations should also get into the financial equation in the south and provide apporpriate medications and therapies for the ill patients that heatl care reform would assist.
