I would have thought Blankenhorn and the entire defense would have done their homework by contacting the governments of Holland, Belgium, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Canada and South Africa to provide the evidence on just how same-sex marriage has had a negative impact on marriage and society in general. Boies and Olsen should have raised that question as well as asking who was responsible for the soaring divorce rates prior to the existence of same-sex marriage anywhere on the planet.

Just so I can be clear on this: We have an opponent to same sex marriage who admits that it is beneficial and important to equality, but let’s skip that little fact in order to preserve ‘teh murrige sanctity with the divorce and the Britney/Elvis weddin’s and the pudding pop.’

What Blankenhorn cannot explain is how two Gay men or two Lesbians choosing to marry is going to weaken the marriage between a heterosexual man and heterosexual woman– unless he believes that more people are homosexual than he cares to admit.

(Why do heterosexists always take perfectly STRAIGHTforward things and turn them around? We wonder if that’s a result of perversity of their disgusting sexual urges.) Gay marriage does not damage heterosexual marriage. It is heterosexual marriage that damages gay marriage.

Listen, if all those flimsily hitched “straight” people didn’t have such an obviously unquenchable need to divorce each other at the drop of a hat, they wouldn’t be so tetchy about gay couples sanctifying their unions. Frankly, heterosexists are terrified of being shown up as the shallow, sex-obsessed creatures they are.

Gay folks are NOT the divorce mad creatures heterosexualists have proven themselves to be. We didn’t invent the quickie no-fault divorce. They did. Think about that…
