I am really, really sick and tired of these people on radio shows who think that they can get away with slamming persons of a different gender persuasion than they are. It's abusive, cruel, derogatory, and totally unfair in this day and age, and worst of all, NOT AT ALL FUNNY!

fr Mike Woods:

>...I’m really sorry that you think the show is going to be pulled from the air, because it’s not. The Rob, Arnie, and Dawn show leads in ratings by a 3 to 1 margin and literally is keeping KRXQ running right now. They are the most successful radio show that I’ve ever known, and taking them off the air would be a death sentence for KRXQ...<

rob and arnie need to be fired and their fcc licenses revoked PERMANENTLY for their stupid remarks. Another program can be found, rather easily.

OK... I give up... I shouldn't have come in here with the hope of an honest open-minded adult "conversation". Your minds are all made up. My bad for thinking you could use your voice to help people understand your world in a constructive way instead of a destructive way. I'm sorry for my apparent "unwanted invasion" into your world.

I wish you all the best.

Peace be with you.

I don't think you are understanding what I am trying to say - or perhaps I am not saying it well.

There is a difference between being proud of who you are, and trying to get even with those that believe differently than you do.

Please, please - be proud of being gay or a transgender! I would never take that away from you. But let me be proud of being a straight woman without taking what you perceive as my misunderstanding of your lifestyle so incredibly personally and in such a negative light!

My 2 oldest friends that I've known for 31 years (I am 35 years old) are gay, they're in loving, committed relationships and very active in the gay community, and I am proud of them for that. My sister just got married in the last year, and one of her bridesmaids was transgender. I live in California and have been embarrased by my own state's continual banning of gay marriage.

So yeah, I may be a "breeder", but all I am trying to get across here is, instead of expending all your energy trying to crumble a couple of DJs broadcasting in 2 cities (Sacramento & Reno), take that energy and use it to constructively make your own personal world a happier place. Jump on the campaign to try to overturn Prop 8 in California, or join the cause to legalize gay marriage in whatever state you're in.

Oh, and btw - see how I didn't get offended by being referred to as a "breeder"? Someone can call me a name, but I am confident enough in myself to see the humor in that statement, laugh and move on. There, I got over myself. How hard was that?

@Debra - I agree! What is worse though are the apparent self-loathing GAYS that sing that mantra too....ala "Tolerance" and "Mike"...it is funny...they offend everyone...blah blah blah...in other words, god forbid should we try to make change. How do you effect corporate change...in the pocketbook! Bravo to the sponsors who thought it went too far. I am sure they are familiar with the shows format so apparently they thought it went too far as well. The problem Tolerance isn't that he assaulted someone but advocated assaulting transgenders...do they advocate lynchings still? Would that be funny? How about strining gay college guys to a fence post and beating them within a inch of their life? Yeah...ha ha...advocating violence is really funny. If they are expressing that they don't want their children to be trans...fine...have that opinion...to advocate beating them crosses the line and that is the point! No one is telling them they can't be offensive...just not advocate violence.

Debra, I'll hold 'em and you can put a pair of rusty gelding shears to work - do a little (and I do mean "little") trimming.

I'm getting pretty damned tired of people telling me to "get over myself"!! That seems to be the breeder's mantra lately...it's like the GOP infiltrated the comments sections of stories about GLBT issues, and that's their only advise: we should get over ourselves! Why? Because you said so? I would love for just one person to say that to my face.

Hey "shawn": Taking a hypothetical question and changing the circumstances isn't going to change my opinion. The fact of the matter is - he didn't DO anything. He has no kids, he assaulted no one.

Tell me you've never said something to someone in anger or misunderstanding, or even just in fun that was uncalled for and you wish you could take back? Then do you hope that as payment for what you said, the person you said it to decides to attack you and take away your career and lauch a smear campaign against you?

Bottom line: The "punishment" doesn't fit the "crime".
