If his God says it’s OK for him to lie…how much of his instruction in class and his view on religion should one take as truth. Isn’t there a religious figure in Christianity sometimes referred to as “The Prince of Lies”?

Namely, religionists often teach baseless divine creationism and ignore empirical evidence supporting the theory of evolution; they consider LGBT people to be mentally impaired and, thus, worthy of persecution (which is doubly sad since, if they really believe that, they have no respect for the “disabled”); and they perpetuate the idea that a fetus is a life distinct from that of its mother even when it wouldn’t be possible for said fetus to survive independently of that mother no matter how well you cared for it.

The icing on the cake is using an unscientific, centuries-old text (that was written well before the science of genetics even existed) to determine the /genetic/ makeup of Jesus. Even if you considered this a valid exercise, surely there would be better ways of making such a determination than using (a second-hand translation of) the Christian Bible as your research source.

There’s a reason why this stuff shouldn’t be taught in a classroom; it’s because it’s total nonsense. If that’s “religion-bashing”, so be it.

However, to imply that because someone uses a valid critique of christocultists that we should expect the same critique of atheism, and lacking that you are somehow better, shows the lack of reason you have that is required to accept delusional beliefs.

If atheism earned the same sarcastic moniker appropriately applied to your cult, than your comment would make sense. Since it is rather a situation in which humans use their brains to conclude the obvious, not only would you being sarcastic towards it not make any sense, your not being sarcastic towards it doesn’t elevate you whatsoever.

“murders are bad people” is not properly countered with “yeah, but as a murderer, I find peaceful people bad”.

You are comparing two things that are quite different, rationality with delusion.
