4 sought in gang rape of lesbian

(San Francisco, California) Police in Richmond, northeast of San Francisco, are hunting four men accused of the brutal kidnapping and gang rape of a lesbian. Investigators have appealed to the public for help and have posted a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrests and conviction of the men.

Police said that the 28 year old victim was confronted by the four as she got out of her car on December 12.  She was beaten, raped and robbed.  When the attackers heard someone approaching they forced the women into her car and made her drive to a desolate area where the attack and rape continued.

Police said that during the ordeal the men made a series of homophobic remarks. Investigators said they believe the men realized the victim was a lesbian because of a rainbow sticker on her car.

If the men are caught they will face a hate crime charge on top of charges of rape, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, carjacking and kidnapping.

The men escaped in the victim’s car.  She was able to get help from a nearby resident who called police and paramedics.

The woman was treated in hospital and continues to receive psychological counseling.

    • The 4 suspects who allegedly committed this crime are in jail. Two teenagers ages 15 & 16 and two adults ages 31 and 21.

    • Oh, please–what on earth does this particular assault have to do with Warren? If I pluck a similar assault (and, sadly, there are multiple assaults of this same nature every day) and try to connect it to anger over marriage rights being granted in Massachusetts, shall we argue about how it is too soon to grant such rights because it inspires such assaults?

Seriously–look at what you are saying. There is no distinction between these sorts of post hoc fallacies and the kind of garbage spewed by O’Reilly and his ilk when similar violence happens to people he wants to paint as stand-ins for himself and other conservatives.

If Obama had asked for only liberals to officiate at his inauguration, this assault would be getting report by O’Reilly as “justifiable anger against a gay-loving regime that is forcing immorality on good, God-fearing Americans.”

Can we stop victimizing this poor woman twice–once by those who actually victimized her, and then secondarily by you when you exploit her story for your own political posturing?

    • Sindel : I doubt they were religious. They were out committing other crimes before the assault. Like most queer-bashers, I bet they’ve spent more time in jail than church.

    • Personally, I’ve never understood the need to be in a church to be close to God or any other spiritual feeling. We have the choice to put the good spiritual beliefs of any religion to use. It’s really common sense, which we sometimes forget to use. We all know in our hearts what is right and wrong. When these gross humans are caught they should go back to the saying an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. They should be taught if this is how you treat your fellow woman or man then this is the way you will be treated. Otherwise hate crimes will continue as usual. Our laws are soft.

    • One more important question: WHY ISN’T THE MEDIA COVERING THIS???????????????

      This is an absolute outrage.

    • Thanks to the likes of Rick Warren, Bush and his supporters, the Pope, the Southern Baptists (warren is one), who use their pulpits – religious or political for personal power and monetary gain. All in the name of God, no less. Talk about Hypocrisy.

They all belong in jail, where they most likely be victims of the same sort of power expression, which is what rape is, be it hetero or homosexual. Because again, it has nothing to do with hetero or homosexual, but all to do with violent expressions of power.
