i’m a registered nurse and i think it’s a shame that hospitals that have good practices are hounded and written up for having thumb tacks in the wall and nurses having coffee at the desk. why doesn’t the joint commission focus on clinics and hospitals that are using dirty equipment and making people sick rather than being nit picky about stupid issues?

The VA Health Care System is the paragon example for the Government-run health care system for which we seem to be demanding. Reminds me of our public schools. Very expensive too! If you’re in medicine, you know this to be true.

If we’re gonna have pointless wars, couldn’t there be some minor provision which at least guarantees that those Americans who volunteer to serve will get healthcare worthy of their patriotism? What purpose does the VA really serve, other than ass-cover for a military system that doesn’t demonstrate appropriate supports for its men and women? What the hell was going on that basic sanitary standards weren’t followed? This is just as bad as the rats and roaches (and mold and sewage) at the some of the rehab units in DC.

I know from experience, medical care at a VA facility is a compromise between inadequate medical care an NO health care at all. Makes one wonder if they should forego medical care at all.
