No one here has commented on Mrs Palin’s membership in the Alaskan Independence Party. It’s kind of at odds with the GOP’s convention theme, “Country First”.

And a P.S. to Tom – it ain’t about not choosing a woman; it’s about choosing a qualified woman. Mrs Palin does not fit the bill.

And another P.S. to Trace: “We’re tired of constitutional rights being under attack.” You’d better get used to it if McCain/Palin get into the White House. It is part and parcel of the GOP platform to deny GBT Americans equal treatment before the law..

A dangerous combination, imo. Maybe Mrs Palin should focus on her own family. Her pregnant daughter at least has the option of marrying her boyfriend. Mr Cheney fought against his daughter being allowed to get married. Vive la difference, I guess.

Thanx 4 the big laff. Democrats are, by and large, pro-choice. Mrs Palin is extremely not so.

Democrats largely reject creationism being taught in schools. Mrs Palin is very much for it.

Democrats support sex-education in school. Mrs Palin wierdly believes in “abstinence only” – even though neither she nor her 2nd child abided by that teaching.

Sorry, but ovaries alone (and being a hockey mom) are not qualifications for being Commander in Chief. The “track record” you tout is abysmally short, I’m afraid. 2 terms a mayor of a town of 6,500 people and 20 months as a governor of a state with fewer citizens than Cincinnati just doesn’t quite cut it, imo. I cannot even imaine her against, say, Putin or Ahmedinajad.

Ross, saw an interview with Spike Lee last week. He said that Hillary and the Clinton’s were friends of black citizens but Obama “is” black.

Doesn’t sound like looking at the issues.

Izatrinie: Well if you’re voting for the GOP because they have a woman, then I guess I’ll vote for Barack because he’s black. After all for over two centuries we’ve voted for white people. Yeah, that’s why I’ll do it, instead of you know, studying the issues and finding a candidate that I mostly agree with; someone I think will do a good job. Picking you vote based on appearances instead of substantial research… that’s a good process.

We have voted for men for aver two centuries to run this country. Some were rich, some educated, some without experience, some were soldiers, others had all the foreign policy experience and what have they all done. The state of the economy is proof of all their doings.
I think it is women time now and I am all for given Sarah Palin my vote. I am not a Republican and have always voted Green Party, but not in November.

I am amazed when I hear Biden say that we need change. Hell he has been in politics for 35 years and did nothing. Change does not happen with Obama. Change is inevitable and each of us has to do out part in making this world better.

Tom, every one of your points is dead on.

One point I may add is that Palin is the only one on any of the tickets (not McCain, not Obama and not Biden) that has any executive experience. Palin is the only one that has run anything!

And by the way LOrion, sounds like you’ve never been to Alaska. You really should visit what truly is one of our most amazing states.
