I wish that more rank and file members of the LDS (Mormon) church would realize: the anti-gay coalition they’ve joined in California is one that includes folks who – given the chance – would vote their church out of existence.

Folks like Mike Huckabee and his Evangelical buddies.

I myself am an agnostic, but I respect religious people. They have immense faith and it takes strength to keep that faith. I think that religious freedom is one of the most important tenants of this nation, and everybody should be free to worship how they want. What makes me sad is that some religious people don’t show equal respect to me and the way I live my life. Why can’t they learn that this country is big enough for everybody?

I have come up with a few simple suggestions to help defend and encourage “traditional marriage:
1. Make divorce illegal.
2. Sterilize anyone who creates a child out of wedlock and impose a 5 years prison sentence.
3. Impose a $10,000 tax on each marriage license to offset the costs of children in state care.
4. Adultry would carry a 10 year prison sentence.
5. Any married person attending a strip bar or possessing pornography goes to prison for 10 years.
6. Mandatory executions for anyone using abortion as a means of birth control.

If they want to defend their precious institution so badly, they should have no problems advocating these simple solutions to help shore up its crumbling foundation.

So Mr.Bumgarner’s mother would turn over in her grave if she knew that gays and lesbians could marry! Well, Sir, we’ve had gay marriage in this country (Canada)for some time! To date, I’ve only heard of 2 cases where someone actually turned in their graves because homosexuals were legally allowed to marry! In each case, the fire department was called in and quickly re-positioned the bodies to their normal resting position.

I agree with Bonnie. Ban all straights who can’t procreate or don’t want children from marrying, since procreation is the primary purpose of what these right wing bigots construe marriage as being. While they’re at it, ban divorce too and if someone commits adultery, ban them from marrying again. Straights are the threat to marriage, not our right to marry. Marriage was invented by men to control society and to treat women as chattel, property and to raise children, ideally boys to fight their tribal wars, it hasn’t changed that much.

Another thing, these right wingers believe that the world is only 6,000 years old, that Adam & Eve were the first parents of the human race. Now we all know that Adam & Eve purportedly had three children, Cain, Able and Seth, ALL boys. Does this not imply then that in order for Adam & Eve to have populate the planet, their sons would have had to have had incestuous relationships with their own mother?
