Obama’s pandering to superstitious christist cults and the fact that DNC is run by a bigoted ordained pentecostal minister who, like her fellow pentecostal minister Jimmy Swaggert, is a pigheaded opponent of same sex marriage, are part of the same strategy. So is Obama’s never-ending repetition of his bigoted opposition to same sex marriage.

Pandering helps win elections. The new Barna poll show how much the Democrats have invested in the bigot vote. Obama is way ahead of McCain among christians, 43% to 34%. “It is unusual to see such significant movement within the core segments of the Christian community,” Barna explained. More than that, it’s a huge turnaround from the Bush/christist bigot alliance that won in 2000 and 2004. It not only means that Obama’s pandering strategy worked, but that he has to keep it up, now and after the election. That’s why Obama decided to cut all references to the GLBT communities from his platform.

This is nothing new. Bill Clinton did exactly the same in ’96 when he used donated campaign funds to pay for ads on southern superstitious (that’s what religion is called when it’s all dressed up and trying to be respectable) bigoted radio stations like those run by Robertson and Falwell. Obama’s doing it now for the same reason, to pander to bigots.

We lose again, caught in the two party shellgame. We’ll begin winning as soon as we stop foolishly depending on frauds like Obama. He doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the needs of the GLBT communities. What will lead us to eventual is building our own mass movements’ free of partisan interference and pushing hard for full equality.
