If this amendment passes, with or without Crist's help, even less reason to travel to "The Severe Sunburn State".

One year, as a team, I hitchhiked to Florida and I couldn't wait to return north as soon as I could, the sun was blindingly bright and I wore a sweater to prevent sunburn the whole time, I disliked the place and have no interest in returning there. Even less so, if this nasty antigay amendment passes.

Gays already are forbidden by law there to adupt children and this amendment will be used against gay people in many. many ways as an excuse (sanctity of marriage as in man-woman marriage) to prevent the least glimmer of or any shred of recognition or protection for the gay community.

Aside from the severe heat of the Florida summer sun, burning hot sands (Maryland here is damned hot enough in July and August) the hurricanes, what does Florida have (beyond palm trees and no snow) to offer? I would miss the change of seasons along with no being allowed to form a family via adoption.

Our last governor here in MD was an antigay Republican out to saddle our state with a constitutional amendment, fortunately we now have a somewhat progay Democrat governor who would not go the amendment route and a gay man can adopt a kid in MD.

I am so proud to live in the great State of Floriduh!! Ranked at the bottom in high school graduation rates, spending on education and other indicators of enlightenment. Thanks to our GOP controlled state government we can now all carry guns and not be troubled with learning about evolution since we all know the world is only a few thousand years old and dinosaurs rode on the ark!! Oh yeah and gays are to be hated, too!! Our state republiscum party made sure that this made the November ballot to ensure their ignorant supporters came out to support hatred and a vote for McBush!! Charlie Crist is a disgrace...
McBush!!!

The gay community should learn from the Watts and LA riots. Look at how San Francisco became after the White Night Riots. The gay community fought politically for their civil rights for at least a decade before Stonewall. But that one night of rioting in the village accomplished a hell of a lot more then all the previous years of political posturing.

I am not saying that members of the Florida gay community should riot in the streets and torch all the churches; I am only pointing out the historical facts.

The 2nd amendment was written to insure the populous had the means to throw off the yoke of an abusive government. Maybe it is time we in the gay community start exercising our 2nd amendment right?

How many times must Right Winged Politicians, Organized Religion, Corporate America and International leaders announce they are coming after the LGBT community through the stepping up their anti-gay rhetoric as we sit idly by watching the fading away of our 14th Amendment Right to EQUALITY? Many in our community will continue to support their agenda, ie: Log Cabin Republicans, Gay Catholics and Gay Mormons, travelers to Florida, Minnesota (Mr. Pawlenty announced he would like to take back his affirmative vote to pass Minnesota's Human Righs Legislation) the Caribbean (in Jamaica they KILL Gays), staying at the Marriot Chain of Hotels, reading or watching anything put out by Rupert Murdoch, etc. Wake up and take a stand like the courageous ones from the 1960's, protest with your voice, protest with your wallet and most importantly protest on your feet not on your back watching Fox (the perpetuation of Homophobia)news as you eat Dominoes Pizza (2 years ago the owner of this chain began a project to create a NO GAY ZONE of urban living project in Florida)
