In response to”Equality said”:
I have a dear friend who does not have sex with men,but considers himself part of the Gay Community.Like me,he is an artist and our scope of perception allows for all possibilities.
You completely missed the point.
I’m not claiming that 50% of all men are gay.However,there is a percentage of all men who engage in homosexual sex. HOMO for MAN…SEXUAL for SEX. Men having sex with each other.
I’m fully aware that there is more to being a part of the gay community than sex. But in the “cult of masculinity”,of
which All men are members,if you have sex
with another man,you’re engaging in an act that men consider to be gay.
It’s semantics…what is the difference between being gay and/or homosexual?
The answer is subjective.But thanks for the lesbian slant on the issue.

Hey! Great for Adam and his honesty. I am an older, straight woman, and I absolutely think Adam is such a neat guy. I can’t get enough of that beautiful voice, and his drop dead gorgeous looks! I am happy that he has enough self esteem, courage, wherewithall, and guts to basically say to the world F….you! I am gay, that’s the way I was born, I embrace what God has handed me, and live with it!!! Maybe Adam will pave the way for other gay performers to be open and honest from the get go so they won’t have to fret all their lives, living a lie if they can’t just be who they are. To all of you gay and lesbian people, go for it! Your sexuality is really nobody’s business. You don’t come around to a straight person’s face and make references to OUR sexuality, why she we do that to YOU? What you do in the bedroom with whomever is certainly your business. In fact, I have a few gay friends, and they are the most tuned in, caring, non-judgemental people that I have ever met. I will take them anyday! So unassuming, and sweet. Good luck to you all!

Good for him. We need more out gay men who aren’t the stereotypical muscle-bound “straight acting” visions of perfection (not that there’s anything wrong with that). Young gay men need to see a broad spectrum of gay men and know that it’s OK to be exactly as they are, fem or butch or somewhere in between.

That’s just it WEHO WILLY: “There is a lot more homosexual SEX going on.” 1) That does not translate into more homosexuals. 5% is outrageously and impossibly low whereas 50% is just a pipe dream. I feel pretty darn confident in believing the 15% that I have often heard and Pat here has reiterated. 2) Cross Dressing is done by about 50% of straight men; true and proper heterosexual men (they do it for different reasons). Check the phychiatric books. One of my brothers was/ is a cross-dresser and I believe him to be truly straight. Would have no problem were he gay. I’d love a sibling to also be happy in gay with me. I believe every family should have at least one Lesbian and one Gay male. Our family feels so unfulfilled with just one little lezzie. Back to WEHO Willy’s comments. 3) Most men who have sex with men in prison ARE straight. “Gay sex” does not always include a gay person. Just as hetero sex does not always a hetero make. I tried the hetero sex and I am a certainly not straight. BEING A HOMOSEXUAL IS SO MUCH MORE THAN WHO YOU SLEEP WITH! But if it makes you feel better to think that %50 of the population is gay, go on then. I usually postpone my happy thoughts like that until it’s time to dream.

I think Adam is an awesome singer . He should have won AI,but he’s probably better off in 2nd place. Now he can do what he wants and not be tied down to what Idol wants.
And…he’s gay. So what? I think that’s actually a plus,too.
I think he handles himself with a maturity beyond his years.
He will go far with his talent.
Way to go,Adam!

“just as many gays as straights”…
Morgan and Michael W…You guys need to wake-up and see the Queers!
Do you think that all the men cruising and having public sex at Truck Stops,
Public Restrooms,Adult Book Stores,and
Baths are all Gay? Most of those men go home to their girlfriends,wives and children.
The retailers of Transvestite/Cross
Dressing wares do most of their business
via Mail Order to Heterosexual men.
There is a book entitled,”On the DownLow”
In this book,an Afro-American man reveals that in the Black Culture,it is widely known that Black men who live a
Heterosexual “LifeStyle”,have recreational sex with other men…and then go home to their wives,children and girlfriends.He further states,that a good many wives and girlfriends KNOW that their men are having sex with other men…but it takes some of the pressure off the women to quench the sexual needs of their men,so the women pretend that they don’t know,and their men pretend that they only seek sex from women…they live,”On the DownLow”! The author received death threats for exposing this”Cultural Secret”.look at the Middle East…in their culture,it is very important to marry a Virgin.So it is common place for men to have recreational sex with their sons,
nephews and other young men.But it’s a secret! Nobody is supposed to know! These examples of otherwise Heterosexual men engaging in sex with other men is prevalent in many Cultures around the world.
Just because a man doesn’t act like a sissy or participate in the Gay Community,doesn’t mean that he is not having sex with other men.
Prisons are an excellent example…the men may consider themselves “Straight”,
but it is the very nature of men to be sexual predators and men are NOT going to be denied sex…so they have sex with each other…and Still consider themselves “Straight”.
So Morgan and Michael W…don’t be so adamant about how many men are Gay or Straight…there’s a LOT more Homosexual sex going on in the world than you may have observed !
