If they supported us they would not have pitted the public against us for the past 30 years. The sad part is that we now do not even have the democrats to back us up. There is always going to be a bad economy, military operation, and all the other administrative problems that pull the strings of the president. My issue is with the waiting. Howard Dean said that gays will have to wait and that Obama has made a mistake, well, we have been waiting and waiting. And the time is now. It doesn't just piss me off that he is ignoring us, he (the administration) is publicly defending these horrible things. There is a clause in DOMA that compares gay marriage to incest. When a plane flew around NY and scared the shit out of everyone Obama was on TV saying that it was a mistake and someone got fired. Even if I were to believe that he did not know what the brief about DOMA said (which I absolutely do not and neither dies anyone else) he still should have come out and said that the wording was wrong and hurtful, which is EXACTLY what he said whilst pandering for the gay vote. You are right, he scored the Latino vote and does not need the gay. He is a smart and savvy politician and lawyer. That is all. We need to now focus on local elections and change the house in our state. If this remains Obama's platform, then for the first time in my adult life I do not think I will vote in the next Presidential election. Yeah, I do not trust all of this GOP support. The excuses given for full equality for gays, the repeal of DOMA, and the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell continue to ring very hollow. I will say it once again; when Mr. Obama used "reverend" Warren at the invocation, he presented the shot across the bow which told us all that we were to be thrown under the bus. I re-registered my party affilation to Independent on Dec. 19th. I have not been sorry as this has unfolded. In 2010 I will not vote for any sitting democrat. They are no better than republicans. After watching Rachel last night, all I can say is, in the words of Kent Jones Mr. Obama, WEAK. It was interesting watching Dr. Dean last night do the little dance for the ruling elite.
